    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heater in which the pretreatment time for a material, e.g. a catalyst, reacting on a specific component in a sample gas and the time required for measurement can be shortened. SOLUTION: The heater 1 is employed for determining chemical species produced on the surface of a catalyst 3 by heating the catalyst 3 reacting on a specific component in sample gas S1 , S2 and for analyzing the sample gas reacted on the catalyst 3. A plurality of reaction chambers 4a, 4b, also serving as heating chambers, are disposed in a heating block 2 while housing the catalyst 3 and each reaction chamber/heating chamber is provided with a gas inlet 5 and a gas outlet 6 for communicating the sample gas S1 , S2 .

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide high sensitivity measurability for a specimen of a very small amount of attaching Au or Ag by evaporation onto a base board having good infrared penetrativeness, and thereby forming a metal file having a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:Au or Ag is attached by evaporation onto a base board 2 having good infrared penetrativeness to form a metal film 3 having a thickness of 5-16nm, and thus a specimen holder member 1 is provided. A specimen is held on this member 1 and irradiated with infrared rays IR fed from a light source 4, and the spectrum after penetration of specimen and member 1 is measured by a Fourier transform type infrared spectral photometer (FT-IR) 5. According to this procedure, the infrared ray electric field intensity is intensified on the surface of the film 3, so that the infrared absorption intensity is intensified on the surface of the film 3, so that the infrared absorption intensity is exerted sufficiently, and consequently even a specimen of super-fine quantity can be measured with high sensitivity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously prepare standard solution by injecting high-concentration standard solution at a fixed flow into a fixed flow of sample water. CONSTITUTION:The detector A of a measuring device, such as ion densitometer, the results of measurement are indicated in a logarithmic scale, and an overflow tank 1a are connected by means of a sample water feed pipe 1 with a throttle valve 1b. The standard solution preparing piping system 2 having a high-concentration standard solution storage tank 2a, metering pump 2b and on-off valve 2c is connected to the sample water feed pipe 1. As a result of this, at the time of measuring the sample water, the sample water is regulated to a constant head by the overflow tank 1a and is led into the detector A. On the other hand, at the time of calibration, the on-off valve 2c opens in the state that the flow of the sample water is made contant. This causes the metering pump 2b to operate to inject every fixed amount of the high-concentration standard solution into the sample water. These are then mixed in the feed pipe 1 and the mixed solution is supplied continuously as the standard solution of the specified concentration to the detector A.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst measuring cell in which an absorptive species can be measured even upon variation of temperature conditions by a structure wherein a measuring cell mounting a small quantity of catalyst for measuring the absorptive species is disposed above a catalyst body container. SOLUTION: At the time of measurement, only a small quantity of catalyst 6 for measuring the absorptive species is mounted on the measuring cell 4 of a cell body container 1. Consequently, the variation of volume due to temperature variation is low and a target spectrum can be obtained by diffuse reflection. A catalyst 2 filling the container 1 is not the object of FTIR measurement and some variation of volume due to temperature variation causes no problem. Since the capacity of catalyst 2 is high, an incoming sample gas reacts entirely on the catalyst 2 to produce a perfect reaction gas and the sample can be measured as intended after reaction. Since a small quantity of catalyst 6 for FTIR measurement is disposed separately from a reaction catalyst, volumetric variation due to temperature variation is suppressed to produce a target spectrum thus realizing a stabilized measurement.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the operation time for stop valves and to detect quickly the monitoring regions where a harmful gas is generated by connecting the respective gas passages connected respectively to the plural monitoring regions to one flow passage for detection interposed with a harmful gas detector. CONSTITUTION:Gas passages 2 are respectively connected to monitoring regions 1, 1, 1 such as a production room, etc. in a semiconductor plant, chemical plant, etc. and all of the passages 2 are connected to one flow passage 4 for detection interposed with a harmful gas detector 3. Stop valves 5 can be selectively operated to be closed by a selective operating mechanism 6 interlocked to the detector 3, thereby constituting a gas alarm detecting the regions 1- where the harmful gas is generated. The alarm is therefore constituted inexpensively simply by providing one detector and moreover the time for operating the stop valves is reduced and the monitoring regions where the harmful gas is generated are quickly detected.
