Abstract: An inserter includes a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. A first impacting surface is disposed at the first end, and a second impacting surface is disposed adjacent to the second end. An interface disposed at the second end and is configured to engage an implant. The first impacting surface is configured to direct a first impacting force along the body of the inserter in a first direction, and the second impacting surface is configured to direct a second impacting force along the body in a second direction that is different from the first direction. Methods of use also are disclosed.

Abstract: This set comprises glenoid components that each include a body defining, on two of its opposite faces, respectively, a joint surface, intended to cooperate with a humeral head, and a bearing surface bearing against the socket of a shoulder blade. In this set, the glenoid components are provided in several different sizes, respectively defined by the dimensions of the joint surface of their body. At least two glenoid components of which the bearing surfaces respectively have different dimensional geometries are provided so as to allow the surgeon to improve the durability of the mechanical cooperation between the implanted component and the operated socket.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to stemmed and stemless humeral anchors for use in shoulder arthroplasty procedures. For example, the humeral anchor can include a first end, a second end, and an interior surface extending between the first end and the second end. The interior surface can be disposed about a recess disposed between the first end and the second end. The recess can be configured to secure a coupling of a shoulder articular body directly to the interior surface.

Abstract: Various apparatus and methods for implanting glenoid prostheses are disclosed. In various embodiments, a method for performing shoulder surgery can include guiding a guide pin into the glenoid surface along a reaming axis. A partial reaming guide can be placed in contact with the glenoid surface over the guide pin. A reamer can be guided over the guide pin to ream the glenoid surface. The reamer can be further advanced over the guide pin until the reamer contacts the partial reaming guide, whereby such contact limits reaming to only a portion of the glenoid surface.

Abstract: A surgical assistance system obtains patient-specific values of a plurality of physical characteristics of a humeral bone of a patient. The surgical assistance system predicts, based on the patient-specific values, a humeral prosthesis (202) for the patient from among a plurality of humeral prostheses, wherein the predicted humeral prosthesis has a filling ratio less than a remodeling threshold for the patient. The filling ratio of the humeral prosthesis is a ratio of (i) a radial distance from a lengthwise central axis of a stem (206) of the humeral prosthesis to an outer surface of the stem, to (ii) a radial distance from the lengthwise central axis of the stem to an inner surface of the intramedullary canal (208) of a humerus of the patient. The remodeling threshold for the patient is a filling ratio above which the humeral prosthesis would cause remodeling in the patient.
