Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to stemmed and stemless humeral anchors for use in shoulder arthroplasty procedures. For example, the humeral anchor can include a first end, a second end, and an interior surface extending between the first end and the second end. The interior surface can be disposed about a recess disposed between the first end and the second end. The recess can be configured to secure a coupling of a shoulder articular body directly to the interior surface.

Abstract: A prosthesis that mechanically couples with both cancellous bone and cortical bone of a glenoid includes a head portion comprising a rear surface and an articular surface, an anchor member, and a plurality of deformable fins extending radially outward from the anchor member. The anchor member includes a distal end and a proximal end connected to the rear surface of the head portion. The plurality of deformable fins extend radially outward from the anchor member and includes at least a first proximal fin adjacent to the rear surface of the head portion positioned to engage with the cortical bone. The anchor member may also include at least one distal fin located proximate the distal end of the anchor member positioned to engage with the cancellous bone.

Abstract: An inserter includes a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. A first impacting surface is disposed at the first end, and a second impacting surface is disposed adjacent to the second end. An interface disposed at the second end and is configured to engage an implant. The first impacting surface is configured to direct a first impacting force along the body of the inserter in a first direction, and the second impacting surface is configured to direct a second impacting force along the body in a second direction that is different from the first direction. Methods of use also are disclosed.

Abstract: A glenoid prosthesis includes a head portion and an anchor. The head portion includes a first surface adapted to contact a glenoid and an opposed second surface that is at least partially concave. The anchor extends from the first surface of the head portion and terminates at a distal end. At least one first circular member is disposed between the head portion and the distal end of the anchor and encircle the anchor. At least one second circular member is disposed between the head portion and the distal end of the anchor and encircles the anchor. The at least one first circular member is adapted to engage cortical bone of a glenoid and the at least one second circular member is adapted to engage cancellous bone of a glenoid when the glenoid prosthesis is implanted.

Abstract: A method of fixating a prosthesis to a glenoid is disclosed. The method includes forming a bore in the glenoid; positioning the prosthesis adjacent the glenoid, where the prosthesis includes a head portion and an anchor extending from a rear surface of the head portion; wherein the anchor includes a first fin and a second fin proximal of the first fin; advancing the anchor into the bore until the first fin is implanted within cancellous bone; and further advancing the anchor in the bore until a proximal-facing surface of the second fin is implanted within cancellous bone and abuts cortical bone.
