Abstract: A navigation tool is used to define the flow and operation of a software application 125. The navigation tool receives flow definition information from a user and generates navigation application program interfaces (APIs) that allow a graphical user interface (GUI) 134 to communicate with the software application. These navigation APIs may include flow 132 and operation 133 APIs. These flow and operation APIs preferably interact with preexisting screen scraping APIs 126 to communicate with the software application.
