Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator giving movement in a direction z by a positioning device extended between input/output stages. SOLUTION: A nut 22 rotated on an input stage 12 is provided. This nut 22 is engaged with a screw 24 extended in the nut 22 from an output stage 14. The nut 22 is driven by a motor 40 provided in the input stage 12. A plate 60 mounted in the output stage via a flexible leaf spring 64 is slid in a direction Z with movement of the output stage 14, its rotation is impeded. Lateral direction positioning of the screw is obtained from screw engagement of the screw 24 and the nut 22. The leaf spring 64 is formed so as to give a lateral direction pre-load between the screw 24 and the nut 22.
