Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable applications in the hand-held device to speedily share data by replacing a key word in a current record in a data base of an initial application with a hypertext including the key word and all record identification information. SOLUTION: It is decided whether or not there is a data base of another application where retrieval is not performed yet (102) and when so, it is decided whether or not there is a record which is not retrieved yet (1051). When so, it is decided whether or not the contents of the retrieved record matches the key word under a certain condition (S1052) and when they match each other, record identification information is determined by matching records (106). When there is not a data base where retrieval is not done, the key word in the current record in the data base of the initial data base is replaced with a hypertext by using the key word and all the record identification information.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a stock trade system based upon a hand-held device by allowing a message adapter(MA) to send to a stock transaction subsystem(STSS) a request in a characteristic message format that the STSS requires. CONSTITUTION: A service platform subsystem(SPSS)(3) communicates with various hand-held devices according to characteristic communication methods and message formats that those devices employ and receive stock trade requests that users of the devices issue. Here, MAs(4,4') are in charge of message format conversion between the SPSS(3) and STSSs(5,5'). When the SPSS(3) receives a stock trade request, the request is sent in standardized platform message format to the MA(4) (e.g. MA#1) connected to the STSS(5) (e.g. STSS #1) that a user specifies. The MA(4) once receiving the requests sends it in the message format needed for the STSS 1. Finally, a stock trade center achieves the request.

Abstract: The system has several document processing subsystems (5,5'), each of which receives processing requests in a special message format and fulfils the requests. The system also contains a service platform subsystem (3) that communicates with different portable equipment according to the special communications methods and formats to receive processing requests from users and several message adapters (4,4'). The service platform subsystem converts requests into a common format and passes them to message adapters, which pass the requests to the processing subsystems in special message formats required by the processing subsystems.
