Abstract:
An interactive method, a user terminal and a communication system am provided for multimedia message services. The method comprises the steps of receiving a multimedia message from a server; generating a page displaying or playing the multimedia message at a user terminal, wherein one or more controllers are embedded into the displayed or played multimedia message and associations between said controllers are defined; and triggering at least one action event and performing a corresponding action in response to the operations of one or more controllers. A response message fed back to the server is automatically generated at the user terminal, and an optimized multimedia message interface is provided for the user, a local interaction and a interaction between the terminal and the back end service can be flexibly realized.

Provided are a system and method for providing an information service for mobile devices, and a short message service gateway (120), comprising: a short message interfacing component (126,127) for receiving/sending short messages from/to outside of the short message service gateway (120); a short message service engine (121), responsive to a request for an information service included in a short message received by the short message interfacing component, for requesting the information service from at least one application server (110) and receiving a result of the information service, and then sending the result of the information service back to the short message interfacing component in the form of a short message.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a service providing device and a service providing method enabling a user to accept the service by utilizing the capabilities of several various devices. An available physical device or a combination of the physical devices is selected for the user based on the service requirement, and the user accepts the service via the selected physical device or the combination of the physical devices. The invention "hides" the physical devices by using a virtual device to provide the service for users. Furthermore, the invention provides a "tailored" virtual device based on the environment around the user, the favorite of user and the requirements of the service, and therefore the invention may provide to the user the "tailored" information suitable for the user. The operating environment of the virtual device according to the invention is dynamically changeable according to the environment around the user, the favorite of user and the requirements of the service, and therefore a seamless service may be provided to the user.

A Bluetooth adapter used for infrared interfaces, characterized in comprising: a Bluetooth interface for exchanging data streams with the Bluetooth device via Radio Frequency links; a protocol converting unit for modulating the data streams coming from the Bluetooth device into electronic signals complying with the infrared standards and demodulating the electronic signals sent to the Bluetooth device into data streams; a means for exchanging electronic signals with the infrared device; and a microprocessor for controlling various components of said Bluetooth adapter to enable then to perform their own functions.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device for wireless communication planning to determine the installation scheme of a base station in an indoor environment. SOLUTION: A radio signal propagation model employed in this invention comprises a part of theoretical attenuation and a part of environmental affection. A site radio signal propagation characteristics data base is constituted by combining an indoor radio signal propagation model and the result of an on site measurement through an on site measurement while in the data base, radio signal propagating characteristics under a given site are described in the data base. A radio signal map for showing a radio signal distribution produced in the site is produced upon arranging the base station of either type at either position employing the indoor radio signal propagation model of above mentioned based on an environment depending data base. Respective radio signal map with respect to the base station of different type is produced by inputting different base station parameters and, according to the production, the optimum base station installation scheme can be selected as the result of planning in accordance with specified designing factors. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MMS(multimedia message service)-based traffic violation monitor system on a public radio communication network. SOLUTION: The system is provided with an MMS ready camera which is provided with a digital camera for photographing traffic scenes, an MMS message processor for enclosing image data photographed by the digital camera in an MMS message, and a transceiver for transmitting the MMS message to an MMS gateway through the public radio communication network, the MMS gateway which receives the MMS message and restores original image data from the MMS message, and a back end application server which analyzes the original image data received from the MMS gateway in order to discriminate whether or not traffic regulations have been violated or not. The system fully utilizes the existing public radio communication network in order to automatically monitor traffic violations in real time. Therefore, a network for exclusive use is unnecessary. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the method for storing data in a Palm OS-based hand-held device by dividing a key word included in each record and storing it as a resource type and a resource ID in resource information items which are included in the header of a resource database corresponding to the record. SOLUTION: It is decided whether there is a new data record to be stored in the hand-held device (120). When there is none, this process is ended, but when there is a new data record, a keyword is taken out of the record (130). The keyword is converted into a 6-byte long integer (140). The starting 4 bytes of the long integer are used as a resource type and the ending 2 bytes of the long integer are used as a resource ID, and data indexed by the key word are used as resource data and the contents of the data are put in a resource record (150). This new resource is added to the resource database (160). Those are carried out directly by the Palm device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable applications in the hand-held device to speedily share data by replacing a key word in a current record in a data base of an initial application with a hypertext including the key word and all record identification information. SOLUTION: It is decided whether or not there is a data base of another application where retrieval is not performed yet (102) and when so, it is decided whether or not there is a record which is not retrieved yet (1051). When so, it is decided whether or not the contents of the retrieved record matches the key word under a certain condition (S1052) and when they match each other, record identification information is determined by matching records (106). When there is not a data base where retrieval is not done, the key word in the current record in the data base of the initial data base is replaced with a hypertext by using the key word and all the record identification information.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visualization method and apparatus for multidimensional data. SOLUTION: The visualization method includes: displaying a plurality of parameters to be viewed which are related to a given object on a 2D plane being different layers along the Z axis of a 3D coordinate system; determining one of the 2D planes as an interested plane; and in response to focusing on an object instance of the object by a user, linking and displaying locations of the object instance on other planes. Through use of the visualization method and apparatus for multidimensional data, multidimensional data can be displayed in different layers in a window or screen and it can be linked and displayed. The relationship among different parameters of multidimensional data can be intuitively displayed to the user, and the user can accurately and efficiently use various pieces of information.
