Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, method and program product for processing a computational problem for a computing center having a plurality of computing resources. SOLUTION: The system includes: a problem analytics system for generating a characterized problem description from an inputted computational problem using at least one of a keyword nonparametric inverse indexing or a nonparametric data structure analysis; a system for selecting a model that resembles the characterized problem description by comparing the characterized problem description with a set of models; and a system for generating a computing solution for running the inputted computational problem on the computing center based on a selected model and a set of environment factors associated with the computing center. Abstract:
The invention adjusts the quality level of applications (typically real time media such as video), in applications such as video conferencing and streaming. A model of the cognitive focus of user attention is fed information such as gaze/eye tracking, open and in focus application windows, presence in a room (see Fig. 3) and so forth in order to determine user attention 202. Actual quality of service (QoS) (e.g. data rate) is determined for programs 204. A perceived QoS (pQoS) is determined using the determined user attention 206 and thence the invention determines allowable adjustments to the actual QoS which will maintain the same perceived QoS 210 and applies them to the application. The invention allows efficient use of network bandwidth whilst maintaining a perceived quality of service for the user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an approach to manage and control document transmission and electronic communication. Specifically, the present invention provides control over data associated with multiple types of data communication. Along these lines, embodiments of the present invention provide a hub and spoke communication model in order to achieve multiple benefits in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, flexibility, and control. This type of granular control is critical for information sharing within a networked computing environment. This approach is also useful for collaboration tools and can be augmented by the creation and management of access control lists (ACL's) for the hub-spoke system. To this extent, embodiments of the present invention provide functionality to automatically update ACL's as documents are being forwarded or otherwise communicated between multiple parties. These ACL's are kept up to date through the analysis of to whom (and where) a document has been sent.
