Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system, and a computer program product for operating a web browser in an open browsing mode and a private browsing mode.SOLUTION: The method can includes a step of calculating privacy probability of inclusion of information that one web site likes to keep secret for a user by a computer processor. The privacy probability can be based at least partially upon a past use state of a private browsing mode by the user. Further, the method can include a step of comparing the privacy probability with some privacy threshold and automatically changing a browser from an open browsing mode to the private browsing mode for the web site when the privacy probability is larger than the privacy threshold.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to a computer network having pathways. The network includes a plurality of units configured to communicate through the pathways. The network is configured to identify informative looping signals in loops formed from a plurality of network pathways that connect a first one of the plurality of units to a second one of the plurality of units. The network is further configured to apply spike-timing dependent plasticity (STDP) dependent inhibitory gating to the plurality of network pathways. The network is further configured to phase shift open gates and close gates in the loop by applying STDP functions to open gate outputs and closed gates outputs. The network is further configured to make a rate and a direction of the phase shift dependent on a modulatory signal, wherein the modulatory signal is based at least in part on a change in the STDP inhibitory gating.

Abstract:
The invention adjusts the quality level of applications (typically real time media such as video), in applications such as video conferencing and streaming. A model of the cognitive focus of user attention is fed information such as gaze/eye tracking, open and in focus application windows, presence in a room (see Fig. 3) and so forth in order to determine user attention 202. Actual quality of service (QoS) (e.g. data rate) is determined for programs 204. A perceived QoS (pQoS) is determined using the determined user attention 206 and thence the invention determines allowable adjustments to the actual QoS which will maintain the same perceived QoS 210 and applies them to the application. The invention allows efficient use of network bandwidth whilst maintaining a perceived quality of service for the user.
Abstract:
A system and method for collaborative vehicle crash planning employs a model-based approach for mitigating damage and injuries resulting from a vehicle collision. A real-time crash model is generated to determine an optimal crash sequence within a parallel computing environment.

Abstract:
A computer implemented neural stimulation system 400, particularly for treating movement disorders, has: a first module 408 to derive neural data from measurements of movements, muscle contractions or speech; a second module 406,412 to derive a neural state assessment of a patient from the neural data, e.g. to predict onset of an episode of tremors or OCD; a third module 414 for deriving at least one neural stimulation parameter based on the neural state assessment; and a fourth module 416 for delivering a therapy such as deep brain stimulation. Preferably detected speech is converted to text and analysed using a graphical text analyser (702, figure 7) to provide word graphs (712) which are input to a learning engine (714) and a predictive engine (716) which uses Markovian modelling to derive the neural state assessment. Preferably the first module also uses other inputs 410 such as EEG measurements, heart rate variability and real world behaviours which may be derived from a cloud computing environment 50.
