PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist users so as to minimize document intrusiveness in team writing. SOLUTION: A server generates a structured document including one or more specific portions being review objects and identification displays associated with the specific portions, in a user interface of a client, sends the structured document via a network, receives user comments pertaining to the specific portions associated with the identification displays, displays a pop-up window for communication using a protocol other than protocols for use in a window for document display, registers the user comments and the document by associating them with each other in response to the completion of entry of the user comments to an entry field, and gives a function of displaying a pop-up mail window to the specific portions requiring communication with reviewers so that they can be transmitted to a designated reviewer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for assisting a user so that intervention to a document is minimal when a plurality of users collectively create the document via a network. SOLUTION: The document is displayed on one optional computer of a multiplicity of computers in the network. Document portions to be automatically related with comments are designated by the user. An input screen (a displayable interface) is displayed in a graphic interface in response to user input. The user is permitted to input comments regarding the document in the input picture, but since the comments are separately stored and they are retrieved afterwards to be used in creation of the document, there is no confusion. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for enlarging the text of a link while holding a browser function on an enlarged display picture, and a program therefor. SOLUTION: A web browser expands the contents of entire pages in a memory and displays related parts having a hyper link within an expanding device. Next, the web browser maps the expanded display to an original document. Therefore, as a result of mouse operation on the expanded display picture, operation related to the original document occurs. Next, a user can select a link for navigation within the expanded display picture. Alternatively, the web browser analyzes an original web page and on the basis of any one of document object model in the expanded part, expandable markup language(XML) and hyper text markup language(HTML) expression, the contents of the expanding device can be configured.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a program product for electronically preparing a customized document from at least one electronic reference document. SOLUTION: In this method, first of all, an electronic reference document is selected. Next, the electronic reference document is analyzed into subcomponents automatically. Next in this method, a customized document is prepared by automatically summarizing similar items out of the subcomponents and the document is automatically outputted, together with one set of navigation affordance based on the selection of a user before document generation. In this method, notes inputted by the user before document generation are automatically contained in the customized document and indexes for customized document are prepared on the basis of the index option and index depth of user selection. This index is prepared by using significant words in the subcomponent.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a method, a system, and a program for performing retrieval from a data repository to collect indexable meta data. SOLUTION: Settings which can be customized by a contents provider is accessed. The customized settings prescribe a method for retrieval from the data repository of the contents server. The contents of a contents page in the data repository of the contents provider are accessed according to instructions prescribed by the customized settings. Meta data are generated from the accessed contents page and added to the index of meta data for an accessed addressable location of the data repository.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supporting users so that a plurality of users can efficiently generate a document through a computer network. SOLUTION: A part on which a user comments with respect to a document displayed on the graphic interface of a computer in a computer network is designated. A display possible interface is displayed in the graphic interface in response to user input and the input of a comment on the document into the display possible interface is permitted. The comments are separately stored and retrieved later. Then, they are used for the generation of the document. When the input of the comments on the document terminates in the display possible interface, the display possible interface is automatically closed.

Next, portions (136, 138, 140) of the document (134) are designated which may be commented upon by users. These portions of the document are automatically associated with displayable interface (150, 160) wherein users may enter comments pertaining to the document. The displayable interface is then displayed within the graphic interface, in response to user input. A user is then permitted to enter comments pertaining to the document within the displayable interface, such that the comments may be separately stored, subsequently retrieved and utilized in the creation of the document without cluttering. The displayable interface is then automatically closed upon completion of an entry of comments pertaining to the document within the displayable interface.
