    Abstract: A method of displaying clustered data points in detail and in context within a data set, comprises the steps of: identifying one or more clustered sets of data points within a data set, said data set comprising a plurality of data points; determining a respective data range segment for the or each cluster of data points, the or each data range segment having a boundary and a scale interval; and displaying the data points in the or each segment such that each segment is mutually distinguishable. Where two or more data range segments are determined, the scale interval value for one of the data range segments is modifiable to differ from one or more of the others.

    Abstract: A framework supporting presentation of help information via a computer system user interface in response to the proximity of an input device pointer to an interface area associated with a user interface component.     Abstract: A user interface component, eg a gauge, adapted to present a changing value according to a predetermined behavioural and presentational characteristic comprises a kernel adapted to display a presentation value, a control interface through which an external system communicates the changing value to the kernel and a behaviour interface through which the behavioural characteristic of the component is controlled. The behaviour interface may be a Java interface with a method which calculates the next value for the presentation value. This may be an "immediate" behaviour, which simply returns the current changing value, a "linear" behaviour where the presentation moves towards the changing value by up to a maximum amount each time or an "inertial" behaviour modelling damped simple harmonic motion. The component may give some form of indication when the presentation value is curtently equal to the changing value.
