Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To combine an existing object by accepting a choice of the existing object to be combined, defining a retrieved method and an attribute by applying a composition rule, and storing a reference code in the composite object. SOLUTION: The choice of the existing object to be combined is accepted (302) and the method and attribute of the selected object are retrieved (304). Here, the composition rule is applied to the retrieved method and attribute for the selected object to define the method and attribute for the combined object (306). The attribute or method of the combined object can be corrected (308). When the method or attribute of the combined object should not be corrected, the reference code to the combined method and attribute is stored in its composite object (312). To generate a composite business object, other elements, i.e., a key and a data object are defined (314).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make RDBM software accessible through a web base network by attaining insertion of the visual selection of SQL inquiry, an application script, etc., to a computer program. SOLUTION: A RAD(raid application development) tool designs, develops, expands and debugs the computer programming for its integrated development to rapidly and easily access and display the data in a three-layer computer network. A development computer 400 executes the RAD tool consisting of many different computer programs or modules. Then, the RAD tool displays a use interface on a monitor 434, which is connected to the computer 400. An embedded SQL command is generated in an application script 414 to perform communication with an RDMS for the computer 400 by attaining insertion of the visual selection of SQL inquiry and the script 414 to a computer program.

SOLUTION: The menu/tool bar of the window displayed on the monitor 434 connected to a developing computer 400 is selectively docked or floated. When a floating mode is selected, the menu/tool bar automatically separates from the window and floats. When a docking mode is selected, the menu/tool bar is automatically docked adjacently to the window. When the window is selected as an 'active' window in the floating mode, the menu/tool bar is activated. Once the menu/tool bar is activated, this comes to the 'foreground' together with the activated window.

Abstract: A smart guide supports the development of internet and intranet applications, including the production of customised database extender programs. Abstract: Accessing a legacy target file with a potentially corrupting development tool, where the target file is characterized by its attributes, and the development tool is characterized by its tool capabilities, including the capability to return the target file with changed attributes. Protecting target file attributes is accomplished by limiting development tool access to the target file if development tool capabilities mismatch target file attributes. This is achieved by determining target file attributes from a source of target file attribute information. The determination of access is done by matching target file attributes to tool capabilities and granting development tool access to the target file if there is a match of target file attributes and tool capabilities, and denying or limiting access if there is a mismatch. A further step is assigning a registration permission key tool to the development tool if the development tool capabilities match the target file attributes.
