Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to recognize contents of a quantization table used for image compression processing. SOLUTION: An image data compression software 5 displays compressed image data (expanded image data) of the JPEG system expansion-processed by a JPEG expander 40 on a display device 20 via an image display IF 18. Furthermore, the image data compression software 5 displays a quantization index value (1st quantization index value before revision) that reflects and indexes all values at n×n sets of quantization levels included in a quantization table (1st quantization table) from a block decoding section used to generate input JPEG data on the display device 20.
