Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily confirm a correction part at the time of correcting details in an area of a picture by the user. SOLUTION: In a picture display, an area as an object of picture processing like color correction is displayed as a curve roping picture indicating its outline and only a part which the user wants to enlarge is enlarged and displayed. That is, input picture data is displayed on the display, and a roping picture is displayed in the periphery of the selected area in accordance with user's operation. If the user selects an enlargement display mode, the input picture and the area picture only within a circular area having, for example, a mouse pointer as the center is enlarged and displayed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a user by simplifying a directory changing operation of each node at the time of operating file transfer through a network. SOLUTION: An FTP-C-S/W 114 displays current directories of a local node and a remote node and a directory/file included therein as a GUI picture. When a user click one of the displayed directories by a mouse, the FTP-C-W 114 accepts the clicked directory as a directory designated by the user, and selects it as a new current directory instead of the current directly until that time. Moreover, when the current directory of the local node is newly selected, the FTP-C-S/W 114 automatically selects the directly of the remote node corresponding to the current directory of a new local node, used it as a current directory of the new remote node, and makes both the current directories coincident with each other.
