Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically select or change the system of the sound compression according to the use of the band of a trunk line, to effectively use the line and to reduce a call loss in a synchronous multiplexer or asynchronous multiplexer (including the one having exchange function). SOLUTION: When the use of the line is more than the threshold 406, an existing connection call is switched to the system of a lower necessary band. Switch permission attributes are previously set in respective calls and the switch permission call is selected as a switch object 410. On a call-side and an incoming-side, resources necessary for the compression system to be switched are secured 412 and 422. When the securing of the resources succeeds, data is transmitted between the existing connection resource and the newly secured connection resource. The resource used in existing connection is released after synchronization 420 and 432.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC power supply system and a rack-mounted computer system including the DC power supply system having improved redundancy for supplying a computer system with electric power. SOLUTION: The power supply system 10 comprises a plurality of rack- mounted enclosures 14 to 16, at least one power supply device 12a to 14d disposed in the enclosures 14 to 16, and a means for generating, among the plurality of enclosures, a power supply route between the power supply devices so as to provide a redundant structure, if a fault of the power supply device is detected. The power supply device 12a comprises a monitor means 22a for monitoring the output of other power supply device and a switching means 46a for changing a power supply system depending on the output of the monitor means 22a, and is connected to other power supply device through a bus line 20. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of an FR frame from an FR terminal 16, a multiplexer 14-2 identifies an LMI frame including LMI data from a user frame including user data based on a value of an address part of a DLCI and queues separately them. The multiplexer 14-2 sends all of queued LMI frames to a data transmission line 18 with priority and then sends queued user frames which are sent by a remaining transmission capacity to the transmission line 18 to conduct traffic shaping processing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the channel effectively and to reduce the call loss by selecting or revising dynamically the voice compression system depending on the utilizing of the band of a trunk line in a synchronous or an asynchronous multiplexer (including a multiplexer with an exchange function). SOLUTION: When the traffic of the line is a threshold or over (step 406), the compression system bringing connected calls to a state of using lower required bands is selected. A switching permission attribute is set in advance to each call and the switching permission call is selected as a switching object (step 410). A resource required for the selected compression system is reserved in a caller side and a called party (steps 412, 422). When the reservation of the resource is successful, data are sent by both the already connected resource and a newly connected resource reserved newly. After the synchronization, the resource having been used for the connected calls in released (step 420, 432).
