Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive control method, a disk drive, an information processor including the disk drive, and a program. SOLUTION: The disk drive including an information processor 15 for reading or writing information with respect to the disk drive, a disk driving means 11 for driving a disk 10, an access means 12 for reading and writing information contained in the disk 10, a drive control means 13 for controlling the disk driving means 11, and a disk controller 14, is driven at a set drive speed, format identification information is acquired from information recorded on the disk 10, and then drive speed information on the disk drive determined by the acquired format identification information is transmitted.
