CONSTITUTION: Central processing complexes(CPC) 10A to 10N are connected to a connecting function(SES) 16 through message routes, and the connecting function searches message routes, through which messages can be sent between CPCs and between the SES and one or more CPCs, and is provided with a message route condition table having entries for message route designation, and each entry has an indication means which indicates whether the message route is in the active state or not, and plural connection routes between the connecting function and a system in CPCs are recorded in the connecting function, and a mechanism is provided which correctly connects and validates each message route.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an improved storage dump creating method. CONSTITUTION: When damping control is in a DCA state, a non-dumping command can be executed and the control remains in a state where the dumping control is usable. When an ADT command is issued, a CIP state is set and dumping serialization is maintained. A plurality of dump commands, such as RDOD, RCB, CDD, RDC, RPLDC commands is permitted and the CIP state is maintained. An RDT command changes the dump control state to DCA from CIP and further changes the state to CCSR from CIP. The latest caught dump data command changes the CCSR state to a CCSH state and can execute the RPLDC, RDC, RCB, and RDOD commands while maintaining the CCSH state. The RPLDC command changes the state to the CCSR state. While the RPLDC command executes the CCSR command, non-dumping command, RDC command, and RCB command can be executed.

A token is generated to designate the position of a vector control object in the program inaccessible part of the main storage device. Each vector control object includes a field indicating a vector entry so that contents of the vector entry are accessed and can be observed from a central processing unit to show the condition in the vector entry.

The program sequencing means selectively specifies a part, which is reserved in accordance with a second command from the command initiator 11, to store state information related to the second command.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a device and a method for guaranteeing that a data object used for maintaining the state information of shared data in a local central processing complex(CPC) is coherent to the state information maintained in a structured external storage(SES) mechanism through a link. CONSTITUTION: An error detector for detecting an error on the link and indicating that the link generates a fault and it is possible that the data are invalid since a message for invalidating the shared data inside a local data object is not received by CPCs 10A-10N by setting an error state pending(ESP) latch when the error is detected is added to the CPC side of the link. At the time of a data processing operation, a central processing mechanism inside the CPCs 10A-10N inquires the ESP latch and judges whether or not the message to the SES mechanism 16 is healthy.

The command also contains a relative authority value operand and a new authority value operand. The data structure or user control information has a related already existing authority value. When the relative authority value is matched with the already existing authority value, the already existing value is replaced with the new value and the command is executed. When the values are not coincident, the already existing value is returned to the program issuing the command and the command is not executed in the SES 23.

The entry of the second table of an ASN is obtained by using a BASTEO positioned at the DUCT.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To maintain consistency of both control and data structure against the errors of a mechanism which is shared by plural programs. CONSTITUTION: A central arithmetic processing composite configuration 15 has one or plural programs, and a structured electronic storage mechanism 23 receives a command to be carried out via plural links 24 connected to each other and sends its answer back to the program that issued the command. The mechanism 23 also shares the data with the constitution 15 to control the lock and to operate a list or a queue. When a problem of the links 24 is shown by a marker, the mechanism 23 does not start execution of the subsequent commands and keeps execution of commands to be performed in a prescribed sequence based on the set state of the marker. Thus a consistent state of data is assured and the program that issued a command can decide how to end the command.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a multi system data sharing complex where data is cached in a shared electronic memory. CONSTITUTION: A high-speed cache is shared among independently operated data systems in the complex. Each data system can access the high-speed cache and a low-speed higher-level storage area. A management logic device of the high-speed cache prevents a block of cache input data from being overwritten with the preceding version of a page taken out from the higher-level storage area. An invalidating bit is supplied into a CPC, and both of an SES and the CPC are provided with command functions and control, and invalidation of data items in both of them is controlled, and the latest version of an arbitrary data item is accessed or updated by an arbitrary CPC in the system complex, thus maintaining data coherency in the system.
