Abstract:
A printer carriage is operated to space a document by using a counter which may be set by program command to any count from a single increment which is a submultiple of a line space to a maximum count of the total number of increments for a full page. The counter is operated to subtract in response to each step advance by the carriage motor until a predetermined count is reached at which a stopping sequence is initiated to stop the carriage at the desired number of increments.
Abstract:
The conductive member associated with the target assembly of a deformographic display system is affixed to one side of the deformable dielectric member of the target assembly. The opposite side of the deformable dielectric member is affixed to the relatively non-deformable dielectric member, which is part of the target assembly and which stores the electrostatic charge pattern containing the information to be displayed. The conductive member is deformable and compatibly deforms with the deformable dielectric member in response to the deformations of the latter. The deformations of the dielectric member in turn are produced by the forces of the electrostatic field which results between the conductive member and the electron charge pattern. By affixing the conductive member to the deformable dielectric member, the deformations occur substantially in the same or one direction, i.e., in a direction towards the non-deformable dielectric member.
Abstract:
A positioning, system for a line printer uses dc servomotors for driving a forms feed mechanism in increments of one or more line spaces at a time. The system includes a microprocessor and a position counter that counts either 1/4 or 1 degree displacement pulses generated by a motion indicating means including optical transducers and an emitter disk coupled to the motors. The motion indicating means includes an error hold and compensation counter that counts and stores 1/4 degree pulse generated during error movement of the motors relative to a stop position during the uncontrolled state and supplies a corrected 1 degree pulse to the position counter upon start up.
