Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, effective, and inexpensive system for monitoring an internet user for preventing the user from performing an access to any inappropriate, that is, undesired contents on an internet. SOLUTION: This system 10 for monitoring internet use is provided with an internet access unit 12 for performing an access to an internet, and this internet access unit 12 includes a browser 16 for navigating on the internet. Also, a transmitting device for transmitting the browser activity and for applying the browser activity information to be transmitted to a monitor unit 24 is included. The monitor unit 24 is arranged so as to be remote from the internet access unit 12, and connected with the transmitting device. This monitor unit 24 includes a display 42 for monitoring and recording the internet activity of the internet access unit 12.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for accessing personal Web site or executing electronic commerce securely in a smart Java card. A personal Web site which includes personal or private information is stored in a personal smart Java card. Before a user can access the Web site stored in the smart Java card, the user is validated by one or a combination of PIN, facial images, hand images, eye image, voice characteristics, and finger prints. Further, an encryption engine embedded in the smart Java card decodes and compares the entered PIN combined with a secure key or security certificate to verify the user's identity. Before the bank account can be accessed freely by the user, the bank's computer system checks the combined secure data to ensure the authenticity of the card and the user's identity with multiple check points using Internet security protocols via Web browses.

Abstract: A detection device capable of being coupled to a person for remotely monitoring heart and respiratory functions includes a processor, a photo cell coupled to the processor for determining blood oxygen content of the person and a temperature sensor coupled to the processor for determining a temperature of the person. The processor compares the determined blood oxygen content and the temperature to desired values. A transmitter is included for transmitting a warning signal if one of the determined blood oxygen content and the temperature are other than the desired values. The device is battery powered and transmits signals at radio frequencies. The warning may be visual or audible.
