Abstract: Recording the interaction of a computer program via graphical user interface (GUI) in which one or more event queues are monitored and GUI interaction data logged. Further messages on the queue are identified to determine a net change to the window, and data representing the combined delta to the window are logged. The net change representation may be a serialization of the window changes. Messages may define user input to the GUI window. The logging period may be defined by message data content or quantity. The event queue may be an operating system or application program event queue and an XML log file for a selected application program may be displayed as a simulation of the application program GUI.
