    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and safely transmit financial information by connecting one or plural remote computer systems through the internet so as to form a wide-area network which can be dynamically reconstituted. SOLUTION: A WF client object is sent to an accumulation exchanging transport mechanism and in order to be transmitted to a designated server through the internet, it is made into a queue together with the other objects. At the time of receiving the WF client object, a remote computer system inspects the object and in the case of receiving a perfect object, the system sends an affirming answer to the accumulation exchange mechanism on a transmission side to delete the WF client object. At the time of receiving the perfect object, the object is stored as a WF server object to be inputted to a map server function, which fetches a data buffer to decode it in the case of being enciphered.

    Abstract: An interactive computer system having a processor executing a target computer program, and having a speech recognizer for converting an utterance into a command signal for the target computer program. The target computer program has a series of active program states occurring over a series of time periods. At least a first active-state image is displayed for a first active state occurring during a first time period. At least one object displayed in the first active-state image is identified, and a list of one or more first active-state commands identifying functions which can be performed in the first active state of the target computer program is generated from the identified object. A first active-state vocabulary of acoustic command models for the first active state comprises the acoustic command models from a system vocabulary representing the first active-state commands. A speech recognizer measures the value of at least one feature of an utterance during each of a series of successive time intervals within the first time period to produce a series of feature signals. The measured feature signals are compared to each of the acoustic command models in the first active-state vocabulary to generate a match score for the utterance and each acoustic command model. The speech recognizer outputs a command signal corresponding to the command model from the first active-state vocabulary having the best match score.

    Abstract: YO9-90-178 A method for entry and recognition of elements from a set of symbols, involving a template of line segments displayed on an electronic writing surface. A stylus is applied to the electronic writing surface so as to trace a desired symbol. Computing means are used to "snap" the strokes made by the stylus onto the corresponding template line segments. Upon completion of a symbol, a code is made to represent the line segments and this code is used to reference entries in a data structure to identify the appropriate corresponding computer code. If there is no match, the code for the line segments and a corresponding set of computer codes can be added to the table. This method takes advantage of natural handwriting skills and can be used for a variety of symbol sets.

    Abstract: A financial transaction processing system comprises at least one local computer system which in response to a user input or event 31 generates a request 32 handled by an Input/Output Application Program Interface (API) 33 to generate a data buffer 34 that is optionally encrypted and forwarded to a message handling client API 37 which creates a client object 38 containing the data buffer. A store and forward transport mechanism 39 receives and queues client objects for transmission to remote servers 40 over the Internet. A message handling server receives client objects over the Internet and determines a destination from data contained in the client object. A map server function running on a remote computer system extracts the data buffer and invokes an appropriate message handler. The remote computer system receives data from the message handler translated into a protocol and data format of the remote computer. The system electronically integrates data captured from heterogeneous information systems and transmits it reliably and securely over the Internet.
