Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cashe system providing reliable data without requiring update of cashe data. SOLUTION: A data stream received from a first application and sent to a second application is stored in a cashe to generate a client cashe entry corresponding to the demand from the second application. The generation hour of the client cashe entry is stored, and a client cashe entry time record is generated. The client cashe entry time record of the client cashe entry is evaluated responding to the demand from the second application, and a client cashe entry is provided to the second application responding to the demand when the client cashe entry requested from the second application is generated within a prescribed client coherency time interval before the second application requests the information. Abstract:
A method, apparatus and program product for increasing the performance of a client/server system having a client application resident on a first computer and communicating with a server application resident on a second computer remote from the first computer. The client application and the server application utilize a client/server independent communication protocol for communication between the client and the server and at least one segment of the communication between the client application in the first computer and the server application in the second computer occurs over an external communication link. The method, apparatus and program product intercept communications in the client/server independent communication protocol originated by the remote client prior to transmission of the communications on the external communication link and convert the communication originated by the client to a second client/server specific communication protocol. The converted communication is transmitted over the external communication link and received from the communication transmitted over the external communication link. The communication received over the external communication link is converted from the client server specific communication protocol to the client/server independent communication protocol and the communication originated by the remote client is provided to the server in the client/server independent communication protocol. Differencing, caching or protocol reduction techniques increase performance over the external communication link. The applications may by be a web browser and a web server and may communicate over a wireless communication link.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a computer program product for communicating with a web browser executed on a remote/mobile processing system temporarily and intermittently connected to a second computer. SOLUTION: A request from the web browser 10 to a server application accessible for the second computer 6 is stored in a continuous request queue in the remote/mobile processing system. In response to the request from a client application, a provisional response is supplied to the web browser 10. Before supplying the request to the second computer 6 so as to perform transmission to the server application, the stored request is called again and the user correction of the stored request is performed.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a terminal emulator application, etc., in a slow communication environment of radio communication, etc., by converting a terminal emulator protocol data stream into a specific fragmentation communication protocol data stream to send and reconfigurating a data stream from a received data stream. SOLUTION: A terminal emulator application 36 of a computer 20 and a host application 42 of a computer 30 uses a terminal emulator protocol on an external communication link and perform communication. Here, a protocol interceptor 46 on a host side intercepts a terminal emulator protocol data stream that is outputted by the application 43 before communication, converts it into a fragmentation communication protocol data stream and sends it onto the external communication link 34. A protocol interceptor 40 on the terminal emulator application side reconstructs the original terminal emulator protocol data stream from a received data stream.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device, and a program, which improve performance of a client/server system having a client application communicating with a server application on a second computer remote from a first computer. SOLUTION: A Web browser 10 communicates with a client side intercept module 30. A Web server 20 communicates with a server side intercept module 40. Then, the client side intercept module 30 communicates with the server side intercept module 40 via a communication link 35. The Web browser 10 and the client side intercept module 30 can be built in the first computer 5. The server side intercept module 40 and the Web server 20 can be built in the second computer 6. The first computer 5 and the second computer 6 communicates with each other via the external communication link 35. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform communication with a web browser executed on a remote/ mobile processing system by storing a request from the web browser to a server application in a continuous request queue in a second computer. SOLUTION: The remote/mobile processing system is provided with the application of the web browser 10 or the like executed on the system, intercepts the request from the web browser 10 by an HTTP request interceptor 31 and puts it in the request queue 32. The request is processed in an HTTP request queue processor 33, and when connection with the second computer capable of accessing a server specified by the request is established, the requests are performed. When the requests are processed, the service thread 34 of the respective requests is started and the requests are executed. A response to the request is put in a cache 35 and related to the request from the request queue which generates the request.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product for reducing the data transmitted over an external communication link using the TCP protocol from a first application resident in a first computer and to a second application resident in a second computer. The method, apparatus and computer program product include establishing a first virtual socket in the first computer in response to each connection request by the first application for receiving request data originated by the first application. A first real socket in the first computer and a second real socket in the second computer are established to connect the first computer to the second computer over the external communication link and are maintained until the request data has been provided to the second application. In the second computer a second virtual socket is established for each connection request by the first application wherein the second virtual socket corresponds to a first virtual socket established in the first computer in response to a connection request by the first application. Request data associated with a first virtual socket is multiplexed onto the first real socket and transmitted over the external communication link utilizing the TCP protocol. The multiplexed request data is received from the external communication link by the second real socket and demultiplexed. The demultiplexed request data is provided to the corresponding second virtual socket which provides the request data to the second application.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product for caching data received from a first application and to be provided to a second application in response to a request from the second application. The method , apparatus and computer program products include storing a data stream to be received from the first application and to be provided t o the second application in a cache to create a client cache entry corresponding to the request from the second application. The time of creation of a client cache entry is also stored to create a client cache entry time record. Requests from the second application are interrogat ed to determine if a client cache entry exists corresponding to the request. The client cache entry time record for the client cache entr y corresponding to the request from the second application is evaluated to determine if the client cache entry corresponding to the reques t from the second application was created within a predetermined client coherency time interval prior to the second application requesting th e information. The client cache entry is suppplied to the second application in response to the request if a client cache entry for the reque st from the second application was created within a predetermined client coherency time interval prior to the second application requesting th e information.
