    Abstract: DEMODULATOR WITH ERROR DETECTING CAPABILITY In a demodulator for recovering data from a F2F encoded data signal having clock peaks and data peaks read from a record medium, an error detection is accomplished by checking the occurrence of the peaks of the signal relative to three windows. The time lengths of the windows are varied after each clock peak so that they are proportionally related to a length of interval between the clock peak and the previous one.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine the existence of a fault in a battery, in an apparatus which is equipped with a battery for performing charge and discharge and supplying power to the main body side. SOLUTION: This is a computer device which performs power supply to the system body from a connected intelligent battery 52 for performing charge and discharge, and this intelligent battery 52 is equipped with a voltage measuring circuit 70 which measures the battery voltage, a current measuring circuit 63 which measures the charge and discharge currents, a temperature measuring circuit 90 which measures the temperature, and a CPU 62 which grasps the full charge capacity of the intelligent battery 52, based on the battery voltage obtained by the voltage measuring circuit 70, the charge and discharge currents obtained by the current measuring circuit 63, and the temperature obtained by the temperature measuring circuit 90. The CPU 62 compares the forecast lowest capacity having determined the level of the capacity to be guaranteed with the full charge capacity, and informs the embedded controller 41 of the system main body of the comparison results.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce a probability that a proposer alters an application by his evil intention or carelessly with respect to an unattended card issue device. CONSTITUTION: A scanner part 3010 of the unattended card issue device is provided with the image transfer function to eliminate a need of independently providing a facsimile, and therefore, not only the occupied space is reduced but also a document must be arranged only in one position for the purpose of confirming credit or proposing card issue, and a probability that the user is puzzled is reduced. Since the scanner part 3010 is so constituted that it completely pulls in the document in response to successful scanning of the application and generation of an image, a probability that the proposer alters the application by his evil intention or carelessly is practically eliminated. With respect to other features of this device, a shutter 3006 controlled to open/close is arranged on the way in the form feed direction, and this shutter is closed so that the document or credit confirmation like a license is not erroneously pushed into the depth when this document is arranged in the scanner part 3010.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a thin film transistor(TFT) active matrix liquid crystal display device of high display quality by forming an insulating layer between one of a source electrode and a drain electrode for a long distance longer than the hole-electron recoupling distance from all edges superposed on a semiconductor layer out of edges of at least one of the source electrode and the drain electrode. CONSTITUTION: When light is thrown in the direction of an arrow 15 with a TFT 1 off, holes and electrons are excited in an area 12, which is not covered with light shielding source and drain electrodes 7 and 8, of a semiconductor layer 5 and are migrated toward the connection area between the source electrode 7 and the semiconductor layer 5 and that between the drain electrode 8 and the semiconductor layer 5. An insulating layer 6 is provided between the semiconductor layer 5 and the source electrode 7 and between the semiconductor layer 5 and the drain electrode 8 for a distance D between these areas and the area. As the result, holes and electronic are coupled again within the distance D and don't reach the source electrode 7 and the drain electrode 8.

In addition, dirt or the like is also hardly stuck or attracted to the face zoo opposite to the disk since the structure in which either one of the end edge 249 of the left side-rail 240 or that 259 of the right side-rail 250 terminates essentially in front of the air exit edge 204 of the face 200.
