    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling effect of a semiconductor component on a circuit board. SOLUTION: A circuit module includes a thermally conductive board 30 which forms a part of a cabinet, a circuit board 32 on the thermally conductive board, which has openings 44, an upper face 50 having a plurality of electrode pads arranged to surround the opening and a lower face 52 positioned on an opposite side of the upper face, a semiconductor chip 34 connected to a plurality of the electrode pads on the upper face of the circuit board through solder 46, a heat sink 36 bonded to an upper face of the semiconductor chip, thermally conductive members 38, 40 and 42 which thermally connect the thermally conductive board and the semiconductor chip, have elasticity, pass through the openings of the circuit board, and each of which one face is brought into contact with a lower face of the semiconductor chip and other face to a surface of the thermally conductive board, and a plurality of clamping members 48 passing through the circuit board in a thickness direction at a periphery of the semiconductor chip and connecting the heat sink with the thermally conductive board so that they face each other.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption by properly stopping respective circuits in the peripheral device according to the state transition of data transfer operation while data are transferred between a computer system and the peripheral device. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an MPU 10 which controls the operations of respective parts, a 1st sequencer circuit 21 which can control data interchange through a host interface circuit 31 instead of the MPU 10, and a 2nd sequencer circuit 22 which can control data interchange through a memory interface circuit 32 instead of the MPU 10. The MPU 10 of high power consumption is actuated only at necessary irreducible time, for example, when a command from a computer system side is processed, and stopped by transferring the control to the sequencer circuits 21 and 22 in other periods. The 1st sequencer circuit 21 or 2nd sequencer circuit 22 is also actuated only at necessary irreducible time and stopped by transferring the control to the other sequencer circuit 22 or 21 in other periods.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for installing an additional information detector by detecting the additional information electronically embedded from digital data, and performing access management by using the additional information. SOLUTION: This device detects electronically embedded additional information by inputting digital data such as an MPEG stream. If the additional information is not detected, the stream passes through the device as it is, but if the additional information is detected, the device judges whether or not the additional information is (1, 1). If the information is (1, 1), the device does not allow the stream to pass through, and the device scrambles or stops recording, and if the information is not (1, 1), the device judges whether or not the information is (1, 0). If it is (1, 0), the stream passes through there as it is, but it is not (1, 0), the device judges whether or not it is (0, 0). If it is (0, 0), the stream passes through there, but if it is not (0, 0), the device judges it as undefined. After that, the device scrambles the passed stream and records it on a medium.
