Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption by properly stopping respective circuits in the peripheral device according to the state transition of data transfer operation while data are transferred between a computer system and the peripheral device. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an MPU 10 which controls the operations of respective parts, a 1st sequencer circuit 21 which can control data interchange through a host interface circuit 31 instead of the MPU 10, and a 2nd sequencer circuit 22 which can control data interchange through a memory interface circuit 32 instead of the MPU 10. The MPU 10 of high power consumption is actuated only at necessary irreducible time, for example, when a command from a computer system side is processed, and stopped by transferring the control to the sequencer circuits 21 and 22 in other periods. The 1st sequencer circuit 21 or 2nd sequencer circuit 22 is also actuated only at necessary irreducible time and stopped by transferring the control to the other sequencer circuit 22 or 21 in other periods.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently adjust a white point in the maximum gradation and correct a blue shift of the white point in low gradation by a simple circuit in a digital color display system. SOLUTION: In the adjustment of a white point in the maximum gradation (namely white level), (1) inputted colors whose R, G and B have the maximum gradation value respectively are converted into a different tone of the color based on each conversion value of R, G and B set up by a user. (2) Other inputted colors are gradually decreased in their conversion values, the conversion value of the color whose values of R, G and B by a conversion A are zero, is made to zero, or the conversion value of the color whose values of R or G or B by a conversion B is zero, and is made to zero. In the adjustment of the white point in low gradation, (1) the inputted color whose values of R, G and B are zero, is converted into the different tone of the color based on each conversion value set up by the user. (2) The other inputted colors are gradually decreased in their conversion values, the conversion value of the color whose values of R, G and B are the maximum gradation value, is made to zero, or the conversion value of the color whose values of R or G or B is the maximum gradation value, is made to zero.

SOLUTION: At least one touch switch area 6 having an independent driving power supply is formed in the display area of a display device 2 and a prescribed function is controlled by executing prescribed input operation to the area 6. As a preferable state for executing input for controlling the prescribed function, operation for touching one touch switch area 6 or operation for simultaneously touching plural touch switch areas 6 is executed once or plural times in the prescribed order. Or the touch switch area 6 is provided with an image reading function, and when the area 6 is touched to execute the prescribed input operation, a fingerprint is simultaneously authenticated, or a window is displayed on a touch panel simultaneously with the touch of the area 6 and user's name is signed on the displayed window to authenticate the signature.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and thickness of the device and to permit position detection with high sensitivity and high resolution by integrally providing a substrate or polarizing plate with a position detection conductive film of an analog capacitor coupling system. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal layer 12 is held between two sheets of glass; a substrate 8 and a substrate 18. The position detection conductive film 20 is disposed on either the front or rear surface of the polarizing plate 24 or the substrate 18 by integration therewith. When the position detection accuracy and the electrical influence on the liquid crystal layer 12 are taken into consideration, the position detection conductive film 20 is preferably disposed on the side nearer the polarizing plate 24 than an ITO film 14. More preferably, the position detection conductive film 20 is disposed between the polarizing plate 24 and the substrate 18. The use of the ITO film 14 which is a common electrode existing between the position detection conductive film 20 and a TFT array 10 as a noise shield is made possible and the position detection of the extremely high accuracy which hardly receives the influence of noise may be embodied.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal driving power supply circuit in which a driving power supply voltage to be supplied to a driver circuit is precisely generated by employing a low precision reference voltage generating circuit. SOLUTION: A driving power supply circuit 11 consists of a DC/DC converter 34 which generates a voltage having a size based on oscillating signals VOUT from a power supply voltage Vcc of the circuit 11 and outputs the generated voltage as a driving power supply voltage Vdcdc , a stable power supply circuit 60 which generates a most significant reference potential Vref H used to generate a gradation voltage in a driver circuit, a comparison section 46 which computes the difference between the voltage Vdcdc and the potential Vref H and outputs the computed difference as a difference voltage, an internal reference voltage generating section 42 which generates an internal reference voltage VREF having a prescribed size, an error amplifying section 44 which computes the difference between a reference voltage that is determined by the generated voltage VREF and the difference voltage and a PWM converting section 32 which outputs the signals VOUT in accordance with the difference.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To secure the safety of power supply to a PC card mounted to the slot of a personal computer. CONSTITUTION: This mechanism is provided with a register part 23 for tentatively holding a part of data to be exchanged in an interface part for exchanging data with the input/output bus 10 of an information processor, a driver part 25 for sending out signals to an input/output device, a power source management part 30 for performing the connection/disconnection operations of a power line for connecting the input/output device and a power source corresponding to contents written in the register part 23 and a detection means 40 for detecting an overcurrent on the power line. The register part 23 can write a detected result and the driver part 25 can turn OFF its own output corresponding to the detected result. When abnormality is detected in the power supply to the PC card 60, the detected result is also reported to a PC main body side. Also, when the abnormality is detected in the power supply to the PC card 60, the output of the driver part 25 for sending out the signals to the PC card 60 is stopped.
