    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to programmatically construct presentation material that is subjected to authoring by applying plural presentation documents to one set of presentation rules. SOLUTION: A presentation device 1A1 such as a TV presents a presentation sequence 1A5 that is generated by a programmatic presentation generator 1A4. The generator 1A4 can generate the sequence 1A5 by using data pushed from a data source 1A2 and also can extract data from a data source 1A3 whenever necessary. Further, the generator 1A4 enables the sequence 1A5 such as a TV program that is corrected through presentation regulations (rule) and an external event when it is dynamically generated or once it is generated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image of an interesting scene from the stored environment map of the scene and from the video data of the scene. SOLUTION: The video data of a scene are received and stored, the direction of the scene is selected and the video data are retrieved corresponding to the direction. An environment map is rendered so as to generate a first image to the direction, the video data and the first image are synchronously connected to the direction (710) so as to form a synthesized image and the synthesized image is displayed. Preferably, a step for continuously receiving video data packets having image data and sound data is provided further, and while the selected part of the image data is displayed, the sound data are continuously reproduced. Further, a step for hierarchizing the generated video data and the first image by rendering the environment map is provided.

    Abstract: In this invention streaming video data is embedded within a panoramic image for display. The invention teaches a method and system for displaying an image of a scene of interest from a stored environment map of the scene and from video data of the scene. The method includes the steps of: (A) receiving and storing the video data of the scene; (B) selecting an orientation of the scene; (C) retrieving video data according to the selected orientation of the scene; (D) rendering the environment map according to the selected orientation of the scene to generate a first image for the selected orientation; (E) synchronously combining the retrieved video data and the first image to form a composite image for the selected orientation of the scene of interest; and (F) displaying the composite image. In one embodiment the method for displaying the image of the scene of interest further includes a step of continuously receiving video data packets that include image data and sound data. In this embodiment the sound data is continuously played while selected portions of the image data are displayed. In another embodiment, the method for displaying the image of the scene of interest further includes a step of layering the video data and the first image generated by rendering the environment map. In the present invention layering techniques include, for example, drawing order layering, z-buffer-hiding layering, and chroma-key layering.
