Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an information processor capable of suitably preventing a mounted extended device from being stolen and its control method. CONSTITUTION: If an illegal user optionally inserts or ejects a PC, card into/from a card slot in a security mode, warning operation is started. Since warning is generated at the time of ejecting the PC card, the occurrence plnysical steal can be suitably prevented. Since a warning is generated also at the time of inserting the card, steal on a software level such as invasion into a system through the illegally inserted PC card can be suitably prevented.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an OS installed into the latest state just after installation. SOLUTION: When an OS 52 of an installation object is installed to a computer 10, a support tool within a support medium 40 performs storage of information to an answer file 42, copy of a unique device driver 43 and a DOS system file 44 from the support medium 40 to a hard disk 11, copy of an installation file 51 from an installation medium 50 to the hard disk 11, and update of the installation file 51 by a security patch file 21 downloaded from a download server 20 through a network 30 on a support tool OS 41. Thereafter, an installer is started from the DOS system file 44 to install the OS using the answer file 42, the unique device driver 43 and the installation file 51. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically retrieving hardware for preventing the bottle neck after automatically detecting hardware being the bottle neck of performance on a system. SOLUTION: This management server 200 for managing an operation device group is provided with: a bottle neck information acquisition part 201 and a server configuration information acquisition part 202 for acquiring information related with a bottle neck from a device to be managed configuring the operation device group, and for storing it in a storage device; a hardware option information acquisition part 203 for acquiring the information of hardware which can be exchanged for hardware being the cause of the bottle neck, and for storing it in the storage device; and an information analyzing part 204 for comparing information related with the bottle neck stored in the storage device with the information of the hardware, and for deciding hardware which is valid for preventing the bottle neck among the hardware whose information has been acquired by the hardware option information acquisition part 203. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a service consumer who is able to use multiple service providers to dynamically select a service provider that satisfies the consumer's service level demands for each method to be called while an application is executed.SOLUTION: A cloud service directory (CSD) 40 provides the evaluation of information on resources provided by each cloud service provider (CSP) 30, as an evaluation table, and each cloud service consumer (CSC) 20 defines its service level demands and relevant resource information items for respective methods as a demand table 53 and a relevant table 62 respectively. In addition, a whole computer system shares the same table formats and service level definitions. This enables the respective CSCs 20 to select and use appropriate CSPs 30 for respective methods using distribution tables 64.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a mount time in an execution schedule of an application by reducing recall processing at timing of a mount request of the application. SOLUTION: A tape mount control method includes; a step wherein a virtual tape drive (VTD) of a virtual tape server receives a mount request for a logical volume (LVOL) from a host system; a step wherein a control unit of the virtual tape server determines whether the logical volume exists in a virtual storage area (cache) or not; a step wherein the control unit determines whether the mount request is a write request or not if it is determined that the logical volume does not exist in the virtual storage area; a step wherein, if the mount request is determined to be a write request, the mount completion is reported to the host system without reading out the mount-requested logical volume into the virtual storage area from an actual tape library device externally connected to the virtual tape server.
