PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device for electronically recording a locus written by a pen capable of performing the input with varied kind or color of pen. SOLUTION: This device comprises the pen 30 having plural kinds of pen points differed in color, thickness or the like so as to be selectable of a prescribed pen point from the pen points and a digitizer 50 for grasping the locus drawn by the selected pen point of the pen 30 and recognizing the attribute for the kind of the pen point. The position information obtained from the locus of the pen point grasped by the digitizer 50 and the attribute information related to the recognized attribute of the kind of pen point are outputted to a computer device 10 through a connecting cable 9.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a device controller having two operation modes corresponding to the installation state of a device driver. SOLUTION: The device controller is operated in the two operation modes of an old operation mode in which it is operated by an old device driver and a new operation mode in which it is operated by a new device driver. For an OS, there is the case that the old device driver is introduced but the new device driver is not introduced. A BIOS sets the device controller to the old operation mode and activates a computer. In the operation environment of the OS, the presence/absence of the new device driver is inspected. PURPOSE: To provide an information processor capable of suitably preventing a mounted extended device from being stolen and its control method. CONSTITUTION: If an illegal user optionally inserts or ejects a PC, card into/from a card slot in a security mode, warning operation is started. Since warning is generated at the time of ejecting the PC card, the occurrence plnysical steal can be suitably prevented. Since a warning is generated also at the time of inserting the card, steal on a software level such as invasion into a system through the illegally inserted PC card can be suitably prevented.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to specify the sort of a keyboard necessary for generating an on-screen keyboard by a simple operation, without requiring user's knowledge and decision with regard to the sort of the keyboard. SOLUTION: A computer system that requires inputting a password is equipped with an on-screen keyboard part 20 that displays an on-screen keyboard 210 with a specified key layout on the touch panel 200, a keyboard type distinguishing part 10 that determines the key layout of the on-screen keyboard 210 and a password checking part 40 that processes the password inputted by pointing at the on-screen keyboard 210 displayed on the touch panel 200.

SOLUTION: A data processor having a touch panel unit 100 includes: an operation event detecting part 12 for detecting an operation when a specified touch operation is performed in an operation area set on the input face of the touch panel among input operations with respect to the touch panel unit 100; a cursor movement information generating part 13 for generating movement information to move a cursor positioned in the circumferential edge of the display screen toward the outside of the display screen according to a position where the detected specified touch operation is performed; a cursor operation control part 14 for moving the position of the cursor on the display image, on the basis of the generated movement information; and a virtual screen control part 15 for scrolling the information displayed on the display screen according to the movement of the cursor. SOLUTION: This data processor provided with a touch panel unit 100 as an input means is provided with an operation event detection part 12 for detecting previously set operation, which is distinguished from normal input, among inputs to this unit 100 when this operation is carried out, a cursor moving information generating part 13 for generating moving information for moving a cursor positioned at the periphery of the display screen toward the outside of the display screen in accordance with the kind of detected operation, a cursor operation control part 14 for moving the position of the cursor on the displayed picture based on the generated moving information and a virtual picture control part 15 for scrolling the displayed contents of the display screen in accordance with moving of this cursor.

The invention relates to an image processing apparatus in which an image stored in a source area in an image memory area is processed and stored in a destination area in the image memory area. The apparatus determine as to whether the destination area overlaps on the source area to generate a first response signal indicating the occurrence of the overlap or a second response signal indicating the non-occurrence of the overlap. If non-occurrence, the image in the source area is processed as a single image block. If the destination area overlaps on the source area, the image in the source area is divided into plural sub-image blocks and priority is assigned to the sub-image blocks. Then, the sub-image blocks are processed in accordance with the priority.
