Abstract: PURPOSE: To change a user interface according to the taste of a user by mapping an operator on a user display panel to the operator on a corresponding original display panel. CONSTITUTION: At the time of converting a user interface 103 of a large-scaled computer 102 into a user interface 104 of a work station 101, the correspondence of display panel set and the correspondence of operator set available on each panel is operated between the original user interface 103 and the user interface 104 requested by a user. Thus, the fitting of the user interface can be attained. Also, the user interface environment suitable to the taste of the user can be attained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply reduce the frequency of memory access such as picture printing processing. SOLUTION: When a CPU 100 reads picture data from a buffer block in which any data are never written, a memory controller 12 returns preliminarily stored initial data without reading any picture data from a picture buffer 140. At the time of writing the picture data in the buffer block for the first time, the memory controller 12 stores and manages the data, and writes the initial data in the buffer block, and then writes the picture data. When a reading or writing request is issued to a buffer block in which any data are written once, the memory controller 12 operates the reading or writing of data as requested.

Abstract: A unique user interface prepared by an application program is customized for each user by mapping a set of original panels for the application program onto another set of new panels selected or designed by the user, and then mapping a set of operators in each original panel onto another set of new operators in each new panel. A user interface provides user with a dialogue manager and a presentation manager for the story of interactive processing in the application. This invention can change the story, the presentation and the input method to the system as each user likes.
