Abstract: PURPOSE: To realize a plurality of display pointers for a graphical user interface of a computer. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of display pointers 71, 72, 74, 76, 78 producible and identifiable by the user of the computer so as to allow each pointer to be related to a specific application and a location in the application are provided by a pointer system. The user recovers each pointer and a location of each pointer by selecting a pointer identifier. One pointer or over is defined as a fixed pointer (anchor pointer). Furthermore, the one pointer or over is related to one user action or over. The user action includes various functions including the click of a mouse button. Thus, the user defines the fixed pointer to select an identification character to execute a series of the user actions.
