Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for automatically backing up data from a wireless device onto a server via a radio network.
SOLUTION: A backup server 502, responsive to a determination that the data from the wireless device (radio client) 506 should be backed up, initiates a backup process. A determination as to when to backup may be made, for example, in response to an indication that the wireless device 506 has been powered on or in response to a determination that a predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the last backup was performed. The backup server 502 then receives the data from the wireless device 506 and stores the data on a storage device connected to the network for later retrieval such that if the wireless device 506 loses its data, the data can be retrieved (B5, B6) from the backup server 502 and reloaded onto the wireless device 506.

Abstract: A method, program and system for providing access to alternate formats within an electronic document are provided. The invention comprises parsing a web page and creating a document object model (DOM), and then parsing the alternate format attribute of an image element within the DOM. The browser then displays the web page containing an image (or images) according to the default settings of the browser. A user interface is specified which allows the user to select alternate formats for the default image. This user interface may be in the form of a pop up menu that is presented to the user in response to an input command, such as a right mouse click on the default image. The user can then select an alternate format which replaces the original image in the web page. Alternate formats may include text, audio, or tactile formats.
