Abstract: A procedure is described for locating the source of electrical noise generated in any branch of an electrical power distribution network. A noise probe, consisting of a small coil mounted in an insulated housing which is held near a power supply line to inductively couple to the magnetic field of the noise current present in that line, is employed to find the source of electrical noise.
