Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high quality printing as well as to reduce a printing noise and power concentration by a method wherein influence due to magnetic interference between printing element driving sections is reduced and the number of printing elements simultaneously driven is averaged. SOLUTION: A horizontal dot pitch of three wires, i.e., a prescribed wire, and wires which are driven by driving sections adjacent to the driving section of the prescribed wire, is set to be neither zero nor an integer number. Also, a horizontal dot pitch of the wires which are driven by adjacent driving sections does not become an integer times of 1/2. The wires in the same phase are disposed adjacent as close as possible in a sub-scanning direction.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a recording head capable of altering recording density and capable of reducing the decrease degree of a recording speed even in the case of high density recording. CONSTITUTION: An imaginary parallel line group 84 having a pitch b1 , an imaginary parallel line group 86 having a pitch b2 and an imaginary parallel line group 88 having a pitch b3 respectively contained within the same plane are arranged so that the respective parallel line groups cross each other and the crossing points of the straight lines constituting the parallel line groups coincide with each other (three lines cross each other necessarily at respective crossing points). At this time, the ink jet orifices 44A-N bored in the ink jet part 72A of a recording head are respectively arranged at the positions corresponding to the crossing points of the straight lines so that respective two ink jet orifices are positioned on the straight lines constituting the respective parallel line groups. By this constitution, the extending directions of either one of the parallel line groups is allowed to coincide with a head moving direction by rotating the recording head to make it possible to change over recording density to three stages of 1/b1 , 1/b2 , 1/b3 .

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance the readability and clearness of a character printed in high speed print mode by providing a print head having at least two print elements arranged in the printing direction, and a print controller receiving a print data designating whether print operation is performed at a print position or not. CONSTITUTION: In normal speed print mode, dot print elements A1 in row A print dots at print operations P1, P3 and P5 while dot print elements in row B print dots at print operations P2, P4 and P6. In high speed print mode, the dot print elements A1 print dots at print operations P1, P5 while the clot print elements B1 print dots at print operations P3, P7. Print results similar to those of conventional technology are obtained by print operation employing a print head 1 having two rows of dots A, B but excellent print quality can be realized in high speed print mode 2 as compared with conventional print quality.
