Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve recording capability, corresponding to a reduction of an interval between a head and a disk in a disk file. CONSTITUTION: This disk file is provided with a disk 16, coated with a lubricating film of high viscosity, a lubricating reservoir 30 for replenishing lubricant to a disk through the life of the file, and a converter carrier 20 with a leg capable of sliding on the surface of the a lubricating film of high viscosity. As the removing of the lubricant from the disk is comparatively low rate because of high viscosity, the file is not provided with a means for recirculating the lubricant.
