Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer with a lighting fixture for a keyboard. SOLUTION: In this portable computer 100, an LED holder 150 is provided on top of an LCD 109 and an LED is mounted inside the LED holder 150. A keyboard 103 is irradiated with light emitted from the LED through an opening provided on the bottom of the LED holder 150. In addition, on/off of the LED is manually performed by a switch 113 installed in the portable computer 100 and controlled from a utility program, etc., as well by an on/off control circuit provided inside a computer body 101.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately comply with requests for both security (protection of security) and usability (operability) of a system in its power saving mode. SOLUTION: A task can be instantaneously restarted with no input needed for a password in a resumption mode when a user has a reaction such as a key input operation, etc., in a comparatively short time after a system shifted to its suspension mode. Furthermore, the system security is least threatened even with no collation of passwords when a resuming request is received in an early time since the user may not possibly be out of his desk. On the contrary, if a resuming request is received when a sufficiently long time passed after the system shifted to its suspension mode, the user is requested to input his password. In such a case, the collation of passwords is indispensable to keep the system security since the user may possibly be out of his desk.

SOLUTION: An image display device is provided with: an image displaying means 3 for displaying an image on the screen on the basis of image data 22; an area indicating means 27 for indicating an area 23 to be enlarged to be a target of enlargement display in the displayed image; and a data changing means 28 for changing a part 26 corresponding to an enlarged display area in the image data so as to display an image of the area to be enlarged in the enlarged display area 24 on the screen. The image display device is further provided with a brightness adjusting means 28 for adjusting a brightness value that corresponding image data have such that the contrast of the image in enlarged display becomes higher than that of the original image in the area to be enlarged.
