Abstract: The invention relates to a switched mode power supply with the following features: a primary coil (L1) and a switch element (TS) wired in series with the primary coil (L1), for applying a DC voltage (Vg) to the primary coil according to a control signal (AI); a secondary circuit, coupled to the primary coil (L1) with output terminals (AK1, AK2) to provide an output voltage (Vout); a control circuit (IC), for preparation of the control signal (AI), with a feedback signal (Urk) dependent on the output voltage (Vout) supplied to the control circuit; the control circuit (IC) comprises a signal generation circuit (PWM) to create the control signal (AI) and a protection circuit (PUS). Said protection circuit (PUS) has the effect that no control signal (AI) is delivered to the switch element (TS), if the feedback signal (Urk) reaches the value of a first reference signal (U1) after a first period (T3) after starting the control circuit (IC).

Abstract: In a switching mode power supply, an input received from the secondary side of the transformer 7 and indicative of the power being drawn by the loads is used to control the timing of bursts. The input is compared with two threshold different threshold values V 2 , V 3 , and switching is enabled if the input rises above a first higher threshold value V 2 , and disabled if it falls below a second lower threshold value V 3 . A memory device FF 1 controls a current limitation circuit which limits currents in the primary of the transformer when the switching mode power supply is operating in the burst mode.

Abstract: A switched mode power supply includes a primary coil, a switch element, a secondary circuit, and a control circuit. The switch element is wired in series with the primary coil, for applying a DC voltage to the primary coil according to a control signal. The secondary circuit is coupled to the primary coil with output terminals providing an output voltage. The control circuit prepares the control signal with a feedback signal dependent on the output voltage supplied to the control circuit. The control circuit includes a signal generation circuit to create the control signal and a protection circuit. The protection circuit has the effect that no control signal is delivered to the switch element, if the feedback signal reaches the value of a first reference signal after a first period after starting the control circuit.

Abstract: A semiconductor circuit comprises a control circuit (14) with a load (RL) between a supply voltage and a controllable timing semiconductor element (2) to time switching of the load. The circuit is usable in a power supply network. A semiconductor circuit comprises a control circuit (14) with adjacent control signal and a controllable, integrated, self on- and off-switching semiconductor element. There is a switch (2) for timed switching of a load (RL) and two current sources (3,5), the second providing a status signal. A starting load device (11) provides energy for the control circuit and a monitoring device measures the voltage between the load connections and produces the status signal. An Independent claim is also included for a power supply network comprising the semiconductor device above.
