Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for vehicle-occupancy-based and user-preference-based smart routing, and autonomous volumetric-occupancy measurement. In an embodiment, a system is configured to receive from a user device associated with a user, a routing-options request for routing options between two locations, and to responsively identify one or more routing options between the two locations based at least in part on occupancy data for a vehicle that would be utilized for at least a portion of at least one of the identified routing options. The occupancy data is based on an output of an automated occupancy-measurement system onboard the vehicle. The system is also configured to provide the one or more identified routing options to the user device. In some embodiments, the occupancy data is obtained using volumetric-occupancy measurement. Some embodiments relate to volumetric-occupancy measurement conducted by autonomous mesh nodes.

Abstract: A resource management framework may be used to improve performance of dominant and non-dominant resources for edge multi-tenant applications. The resource management framework may include an admission control mechanism, which may be used to balance disproportionate resource allocations by controlling allocation of unconstrained resources proportional to the requested dominant resources based on resource availability. The admission control mechanism may provide ongoing monitoring of dominant and non-dominant resource utilization, such as using a hybrid centralized-distributed telemetry collection approach. The resource management framework may also include a lightweight resource monitoring and policy enforcement mechanism on distributed networking elements to reduce or eliminate the exploitations of non-dominant resources.

Abstract: V2X trusted agents provide technical solutions for technical problems facing falsely reported locations of connected vehicles within V2X systems. These trusted agents (e.g., trusted members) may be used to detect an abrupt physical attenuation of a wireless signal and determine whether the attenuation was caused by signal occlusion caused by the presence of an untrusted vehicle or other untrusted object. When the untrusted vehicle is sending a message received by trusted agents, these temporary occlusions allow trusted members to collaboratively estimate the positions of untrusted vehicles in the shared network, and to detect misbehavior by associating the untrusted vehicle with reported positions. Trusted agents may also be used to pinpoint specific mobile targets. Information about one or more untrusted vehicles may be aggregated and distributed as a service.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method for operating a vehicle may include determining a vehicular area having traffic conditions or characteristics different from traffic conditions of a current or previous location of the vehicle; obtaining traffic and driving information for the determined vehicular region; changing or updating one or more of driving model parameters of a safety driving model during operation of the vehicle based on the obtained traffic and driving information; and controlling the vehicle to operate in accordance with the safety driving model using the one or more changed or updated driving model parameters. A vehicle may seamlessly update operational rules and/or handover of traffic and driving information for transitioning from one region to another.

Abstract: Example apparatus to perform service failover as disclosed herein are to detect a failure condition associated with execution of a service by a first compute platform, the execution of the service responsive to a first request. Disclosed example apparatus are also to send a second request to a second compute platform to execute the service. Disclosed example apparatus are further to monitor a queue of the first compute platform for a response to the first request, the response to indicate execution of the service by the first compute platform has completed, and when the response is detected in the queue, discard the response from the queue.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for information centric network (ICN) approximate computation caching are described herein. For example, an interest packet that includes a feature set of input data may be received. A node may then perform a search of a local data store using the feature set to determine an approximate computation result cached in the local data store. Here, the approximate computation result may be based on input data that differs from the input data named in the interest packet. The node may then return the approximate computation result to an author of the interest packet in response to the search.

Abstract: A DTaaS architecture is described to support communication-side optimization and to reduce communication overhead while meeting necessary reliability and latency requirements. The disclosure describe techniques for utilizing DT resources for V2X environments using both virtual and physical “twin” resources to achieve improved resiliency. Moreover, to optimize redundancy costs, the ratio of virtual DT nodes to physical DT nodes may be asymmetrical. An asymmetric approach to DT redundancies involving both virtual and physical resources enables greater flexibility in managing deployment costs.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for distributed machine learning (DML) in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. Finite message exchanges, such as those used in many DML exercises, may be efficiently implemented by treating certain data packets as interest packets to reduce overall network overhead when performing the finite message exchange. Further, network efficiency in DML may be improved achieved by using local coordinating nodes to manage devices participating in a distributed machine learning exercise. Additionally, modifying a round of DML training to accommodate available participant devices, such as by using a group quality of service metric to select the devices, or extending the round execution parameters to include additional devices, may have an impact on DML performance.

Abstract: A computing node includes interface circuitry and processing circuitry. To implement a spectrum harvesting entity in a wireless network configured for crowdsource-based unlicensed spectrum harvesting, the processing circuitry is configured to select a set of crowdsourcing nodes from a plurality of crowdsourcing nodes available in the wireless network. A plurality of spectrum occupancy reports (SORs) is received from the set of crowdsourcing. Each of the plurality of SORs indicates a channel occupancy status of a communication channel in the unlicensed spectrum sensed by a corresponding crowdsourcing node of the set and geolocation associated with the corresponding crowdsourcing node. A spectrum occupancy map of the unlicensed spectrum is generated based on the channel occupancy status and the geolocation provided in the plurality of SORs by each crowdsourcing node of the set of crowdsourcing nodes.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to manage a self-adaptive heterogeneous emergency network. An example apparatus to establish recovery nodes includes failure detection circuitry to determine a node initiated a reset procedure, override circuitry to suppress a native recovery procedure of the node, formation circuitry to initiate a heterogeneous recovery procedure, and trust circuitry to measure a root of trust of the node. Further, the example apparatus instantiates the formation circuitry further to broadcast heterogeneous recovery packets, and activate listener ports for responses to the heterogeneous recovery packets.
