Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a packet via high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) are disclosed. At least one HSDPA medium access control (MAC-hs) service data unit (SDU) is segmented into a plurality of segments. MAC-hs protocol data units (PDUs) are generated from the segments wherein each MAC-hs PDU includes at least one segment. Each MAC-hs PDU may include one segment from a single MAC-hs SDU. The size of the segments may match to the size of the MAC-hs PDUs minus the size of the header of the MAC-hs PDU. The sizes of the segments may be determined based on the number of segments to which the MAC-hs SDU is segmented. Alternatively, each MAC-hs PDU may include a combination of segments from a plurality of MAC-hs SDUs or a combination of at least one segment from one MAC-hs SDU and at least one entire MAC-hs SDU.

Al menos una unidad de data de servicio (SDU) de control de acceso a medio HSDPA (MAC -hs) es segmentada en una pluralidad de segmentos. Unidades de protocolo de data MAC-hs (PDUs) son generadas de los segmentos donde cada MAC - hs PDU incluye al menos un segmento. Cada MAC - hs PDU puede incluir un segmento de un solo MAC - hs SDU. Se describen un método y aparato para transmitir y recibir un paquete por medio de un acceso a paquete de enlace descendente de alta velocidad (HSDPA). Al menos una unidad de datos de servicio de control (SDU) de acceso a medios HSDPA (MAC-hs) se segmenta en una pluralidad de segmentos. Las unidades de dato de protocolo (PDUs) de MAC-hs se generan de los segmentos en donde cada PDU de MAC-hs incluye al menos un segmento. Cada PDU de MAC-hs puede incluir un segmento de una SDU de MAC-hs único. El tamaño de los segmentos puede igualarse al tamaño de las PDUs de MAC-hs menos el tamaño del encabezador de la PDU de MAC-hs. Los tamaños de los segmentos podrán determinarse en base al número de segmentos a los cuales se segmenta la SDU de MAC-hs. AT LEAST ONE HSDPA MEDIUM ACCESS CONTROL (MAC-HS) SERVICE DATA UNIT (SDU) IS SEGMENTED INTO A PLURALITY OF SEGMENTS. 10 MAC-HS PROTOCOL DATA UNITS (PDUS) ARE GENERATED FROM THE SEGMENTS WHEREIN EACH MAC-HS PDU INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE SEGMENT. EACH MAC-HS PDU MAY INCLUDE ONE SEGMENT FROM A SINGLE MAC-HS SDU. THE SIZE OF THE SEGMENTS MAY MATCH TO THE SIZE OF THE MAC-HS PDUS MINUS THE SIZE OF THE HEADER OF THE NIAC-HS PDU. THE SIZES OF THE SEGMENTS MAY BE DETERMINED BASED ON THE NUMBER OF SEGMENTS TO WHICH THE 1 5 MAC-HS SDU IS SEGMENTED.
