    Abstract: In a wireless communication system including a (STA) including a basic service set (BSS) timer and in communication with a mesh access point (MAP), and a network management (NM) entity wherein the MAP and NM entity include a mesh timer, a method and apparatus for coordinating timing comprises the STA transmitting a BSS timer information message to the MAP, wherein the BSS timer information message includes a BSS timer value. The MAP receives the BSS timer information message and modifies the message. The MAP forwards the modified message to the NM entity.

    Abstract: An access point (AP) is disclosed comprising a wireless receiver configured to wirelessly receive capability and configuration data from a plurality of wireless transmit receive units, WTRUs, the capability and configuration data including information regarding coexistence of a 20 Mhz channel and a 40 Mhz channel. The AP further comprises a memory unit configured to store the capability and configuration data, and a wireless transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit, to at least one of the plurality of WTRUs, WTRU-specific configuration data comprising channelization data and legacy protection data based on the stored capability and configuration data.
