PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inspecting an elevator apparatus capable of preventing or at least reducing errors by an inspector. SOLUTION: In this elevator apparatus, to avoid or at least reduce the errors by the inspector and also to enable the convenient and reliable inspection of the elevator apparatus, an inspection program including all steps necessary for the inspection is set based on the configuration data of the elevator apparatus stored in an elevator control device 11 and according to a selected operation mode. In the step, an input indicated on a display and control unit 13 by a specified sequence and necessary for treating the step is inputted by the display and control unit 13. Method for testing an elevator system, which has a control unit (11) with a linked operating and display unit (13), has the following steps: a testing program is generated by the control unit in conjunction with configuration data for the lift stored in the control unit; control program steps are displayed in sequence on the operating and display unit and; the necessary inputs for processing the steps are input via the operating and display unit. An independent claim is made for an elevator system with a control unit with an operating and display unit that can be switched between normal and test mode operation.

A method and a device for maintenance of an elevator or escalator installation includes an interface for connection of a controller of the installation with a display and control unit for display of operating parameters or for input of control commands and data, and connection equipment for creating a data connection with a maintenance center. Data and parameters stored in the maintenance center can be transferred to the display and control unit by the data connection after an identification check. A fault log with a specification of operating faults and/or a specification of the replacement parts coming into question for rectification of the operating faults can be produced, which is transferred by the data connection from the display and control unit to the maintenance center, can be produced for example to cause ordering of missing replacement parts.

The invention relates to a method of checking lift installations and to a li ft installation with a cage, a lift drive and a lift controller (11) comprising a memory (12). In order, with such a method, to avoid or at least reduce errors by a person carrying out the chec k and to enable convenient and reliable checking of a lift installation a check progr am comprising all steps necessary for the check is set up on the basis of stored configuration data of the lift installation in the lift controller (11) and in dependence on a selected mod e of operation. in addition, the steps are indicated in a predetermined sequence on an indicating and control unit (13) and necessary inputs for working down the steps are input by way of the indicating and control unit (13).
