Abstract: Conmutador de seguridad (1) para una instalación eléctrica, en particular para una cadena de seguridad (200) de una instalación de ascensor (300), que presenta: dos conmutadores (3, 5), que están conectados en serie entre sí y con un elemento de carga (21) a conectar, en donde cada uno de los conmutadores (3, 5) está configurado de tal manera que se mantiene a través de la recepción de una señal de cierre en un estado cerrado y en el caso de ausencia de la señal de cierre, pasa a un estado abierto; una unidad de control (7), que está configurada para generar en presencia de un estado de referencia la señal de cierre y para conducirla al menos a uno de los conmutadores (3, 5) y en presencia de un estado de noreferencia para no conducir ninguna señal ce cierre al menos a un conmutador (3, 5); caracterizado porque una unidad de retención (17, 19) puede ser inducida por la unidad de control (7) a generar como máximo durante una duración de retención predeterminada la señal de cierre independientemente de la unidad de control y para conducirla al menos a uno de los conmutadores (3, 5), y porque la unidad de control (7) está diseñada para inducir a la unidad de retención (17, 19), antes de una reposición o auto-prueba a realizar por la unidad de control (7), a generar como máximo durante la duración de retención predeterminada la señal de cierre y a conducirla al menos a un conmutador (3, 5).

Abstract: The invention describes a method of checking the functional capability of at least one safety element (3) of a safety circuit of a lift installation, wherein a first processing unit (5) and a second processing unit (6) are used for the at least one safety element (3), wherein the at least one safety element (5) is connected with a control unit (1) by way of a communications network (2). According to the invention at least one signal is provided by the first processing unit (5) on the basis of at least one communication from the control unit (1). The at least one provided signal is detected by the second processing unit (6) connected with the first processing unit (5) and communicated to the control unit (1) by way of the communications network (2). The at least one communicated signal is checked with respect to the validity thereof by the control unit (1).
