Abstract: PURPOSE:To properly and efficiently dry waste in a waste melting furnace without requiring a dryer and a molding machine apart from the furnace by forming the waste bed in a waste treatment part as a circulating fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:A waste treatment part 6 in which waste (e) is charged is provided on the upper side of a bed part 8 where a coke-packed bed 8C is formed and coke C is burnt by supplied oxygen-containing gas (g) to melt the waste (e). A cyclone 4 is provided to the exhaust passage 3 of a waste melting furnace l and the discharge port 4a of the heavy solid recovered by the cyclone 4 is connected to the circulating tuyere 7 opened to the waste treatment part 6 through the first blow-in passage R1. The route extending over the treatment part 6, the exhaust passage 3, the cyclone 4, the discharge port 4a, the first blow-in passage R1 and the circulating tuyere 7 is formed as a circulating passage L. A means 12 forcibly circulating the gas in the circulating passage L is provided to the circulating passage L and the waste bed formed in the treatment part 6 is brought to a circulating fluidized bed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To discharge the molten slag smoothly by providing a supply means which supplies waste refuse and a gas that contains oxygen for combustion in the space on the upstream side and a slag discharge port which discharges the molten slag at the bottom of the high temperature furnace bed, and providing a forced vent means which makes the combustion exhaust gas go through the high temperature furnace bed and discharges it from an exhaust gas furnace. CONSTITUTION:A hopper 2 supplies into the furnace the coke that forms a high temperature furnace bed in the furnace. The supply means 6 is provided with a first supply route 8 and second supply route which jet out the combustion air, and to the first supply route 8 a hopper 10 is connected which merges waste refuse that are dried and in a granular state with the combustion air and jet them into the furnace. A plurality of supply air ports 13 are formed in the tilted furnace bed 12, and by supplying the combustion air from the supply air ports 13 the area near the furnace bottom is kept at high temperature, which makes smooth the flow of the molten slag that accumulates on the tilted furnace bottom 12 towards a slag discharge port 11, and promotes the flowing-down of the molten slag by the blow force of the combustion air.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress sufficiently and securely the cooling of the high- temperature hearth due to supply of wastes and stably maintain a favorable capability to melt wastes, by forming a preheating or combustion chamber adjacent to a peripheral part of the high-temperature hearth, and connecting a combustion oxygen-containing gas supply means and a waste supply means to the preheating or combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:Preheating or combustion chambers 10 are provided at intervals along the periphery of a high-temperature hearth 2. Particulate or granular wastes in the chambers 10 are sufficiently preheated by the hearth 2, by auxiliary burners which are optionally provided, by combustion of part of combustible wastes, or the like. The preheated wastes are blown into gaps in the hearth 2 by the action of combustion air.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable prevention of the stop of discharge of a molten metal in the middle of discharge, by a method wherein a molten metal is cooled for solidification, a tap hole is closed, after completion of a melting and refining process, a metal solidified in the tap hole is heated and molten, and a stopper is elevatably mounted to the upper opening part of the tap hole. CONSTITUTION:When, after a tap hole 24 is close and melting and refining are completed, a high frequency current is fed through a transmission line 36 to a coil 27, the coil 27 generates heat, and a metallic lump solidified in the tap hole 24 is molten, the tap hole 24 is opened, and a molten metal contained in a furnace is discharged through the tap hole 24. When, during discharge of the molten metal, the feed of the molten metal is stopped, a stopper 32 is lowered in the molten metal to close the upper part of the tap hole 24, and through closing of an openable gate 28, the lower part of the tap hole 24 is closed. By cooling the molten metal confined in the tap hole 24 by the feed of cooling water to the interior of the hollow coil 27, the molten metal is solidified in the tap hole 24 again, and the tap hole 24 is closed again to stop discharge.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance heat efficiency, by subjecting combustible sludge having high water content to a primary drying process by bringing it in contact with heated granules being circulated, fluidizing the dried sludge with a recovered exhaust gas to thereby cause the sludge to be secondarily dried up to a hypergolic level, and allowing the completely dried sludge to be burned by aid of and heating medium fluidizing for circulation. CONSTITUTION:A fluidized-bed incinerator 11 is provided at its lower section with an air inlet through which a high temperature combustion air is blown into the incinerator. To the top of the incinerator is connected the first cyclone 12 which also serves as circulating and transporting means. A mixer 13, which constitutes the first drying means, is connected to the downstream side of the first cyclone 12. The second drying means 15 is connected to the downstream side of the mixer 13 and simultaneously communicated with an intake port 14 of the incinerator 11. Sludge is dewatered by a mechanical method and thereafter mixed with high temperature granules in the mixer 13, allowing the sludge to be preliminarily dried. The sludge mixture is fed to the second drying means wherein the mixture is fluidized and stirred by means of an exhaust gas introduced through a circulation line 27. The sludge mixture now adapted to a suitable water content is supplied to the incinerator 11.
