Abstract:
This invention is directed to an environmentally safe, water soluble stripping composition which contains a solution of water, a water soluble ester containg from 4 to 10 carbon atoms and an amount of hydrogen peroxide or compounds which generate hydrogen peroxide in situ; which peroxide concentration is not in excess of 30 wt. % of the water/ester composition. The invention also concerns the use of this biodegradable composition in a process for stripping organic coatings such as paints and resins from substrates.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to an environmentally safe, water soluble stripping composition comprising between about 30 and about 98.5 wt. % N-methylpyrrolidone or a 10/90 to 90/10 mixture of N-methylpyrrolidone and gamma-butyrolactone and between about 0.1 and about 5 wt. % cyclomethicone. The invention also concerns the use of this composition in a process for stripping organic coatings such as paints, resins, varnishes and shellac from substrates.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a glycol based anti-icing fluid containing between about 0.05 and about 5.0 wt.% of 0.2 to 1.0 % crosslinked poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) or between about 0.05 and about 2 wt.% of 1.5 to 5 % crosslinked maleic anhydride/methyl vinyl ether copolymer and between about 0.01 and about 2 wt.% base to provide a pH of from about 6.5 to about 10.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a composition suitable for the removal of an acid or rosin modified flux residue from a printed circuit board, which composition consists essentially of (a) between about 30 and about 80 weight % of a flux solubilizing agent selected from the group of an N- C1 to C6 alkyl pyrrolidone, an N- C1 to C4 alkyl caprolactam, tetramethylurea, dimethylimidiazolidinone and mixtures thereof and (b) between about 20 and about 70 weight % of a non-toxic, water-soluble, corrosion controlling agent which is not the same as (a) and which has a boiling point within about 25 DEG C of said flux solubilizing agent and is selected from the group of C2 to C3 alkylene glycol, tetra-lower alkyl urea, 2 to 4 poly(propylene glycol lower alkyl ether) and 2 to 4 poly(propylene glycol lower alkyl ether acetate). The invention also relates to the process for using said composition in a semi-aqueous defluxing process.
Abstract:
A resin cleaner composition is provided herein for use as a cleaning solvent to remove cured, partially cured and uncured polyester or vinyl ester resin containing a free radical polymerization initiator from resin fabrication tools. The composition is characterized by the presence therein of a free radical inhibitor which suppresses the rate of free radical polymerization.
Abstract:
Oil removal is carried out with a composition comprising: (a) between about 50 and about 95 wt. % of N-methyl pyrrolidone and between about 50 and about 5 wt. % of an N-alkyl pyrrolidone wherein said alkyl group contains from 8 to 14 carbon atoms, or (b) an aqueous solution of a higher-alkyl pyrrolidone, an anionic surfactant, and water.
