    Abstract: A method anneals a hot-rolled steel strip contains 1.6 to 5.0 mass % Si for an electrical steel sheet using annealing equipment including a heating zone, a soaking zone, and a cooling zone arranged in this order from the upstream side, a thickness meter and a rapid heating device are arranged on the upstream side of the soaking zone, and the heating temperature of the rapid heating device for the steel strip is determined based on the value of LSD defined by the thickness of the steel strip measured with the thickness meter and the threading speed of the steel strip during annealing as represented by the following Expression (1): LSD=t×LS . . . (1), where t is the thickness (mm) of the steel strip, and LS is the threading speed (m/min) of the steel strip.

A slurry application method includes: spraying a slurry from a nozzle onto one or both of a traveling strip member and a roll; and applying the slurry to a surface of the strip member by pressing the roll against the surface of the strip member, wherein a spray angle θ is set to 0° or more and 50° or less, a distance d in a conveyance direction of the strip member between an intersection point P1 and a rotation center P2 of the roll is 100 mm or less, and a height h from the surface of the strip member to the intersection point P1 is ½ or less of a diameter of the roll.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a fully new method for hot-dip metal coating treatment, as a method for treating surfaces of a metal strip by hot-dip metal coating, by which inherent issues in conventional immersion coatings and spray coatings are avoided. In the disclosed method for hot-dip metal coating treatment, a surface of a metal strip is coated by discharging a droplet of a molten metal toward the surface of the metal strip, using a nozzle system configured to discharge the droplet of the molten metal from a nozzle due to an action of the Lorentz force generated on the molten metal by sending an electric current to the molten metal in a chamber, the chamber being applied with magnetic flux in a given direction, while the electric current sent in a direction perpendicular to the given direction.
