    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower limb impact absorbing member for a vehicle which can sufficiently absorb impact energy within a limited stroke (distortion amount) while it is configured to be thin as a whole and light in weight.SOLUTION: The lower limb impact absorbing member 1 for the vehicle comprises a molded body of composite resin foamed particles of a polystyrene resin and a polyolefin resin, and includes a top plate 10 for mounting the foot of an occupant and projections formed upright on the opposite face of the top plate to the foot mounting surface. The projections are composed of a main projection 20 erected in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and a sub-projection 30 formed upright while being stretched over a space between the main projections in an impact absorbing portion (A) to mount a foot. The total thickness of the impact absorbing portion is 20 to 50 mm, and the thickness of the top plate in the impact absorbing portion is 30% or lower of the total thickness. The width of the main projection is 10 mm or larger and not larger than 30% of the total thickness of the impact absorbing portion. The height of the sub-projection is 30 to 70% of the height of the main projection, and the total width of the sub-projection is 10 to 20 mm.
