Abstract:
A silane polymer is disclosed which has a larger molecular weight in view of boiling point, safety, and wetting property in case when it is applied to a substrate. In particular, a composition is disclosed which enables to form a good silicon film easily. A composition for forming a silicon film is disclosed which contains a silane polymer obtained by irradiating a photopolymerizable silane compound with light in a specific wavelength range for causing photopolymerization thereof. A method for forming a silicon film is also disclosed wherein such a composition is applied to a substrate and then subjected to heat treatment and/or photo treatment.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silane polymer having a higher molecular weight, especially a composition capable of easily forming a high-quality silicon film from the viewpoints of wettability, a boiling point and safety for its application to a substrate. SOLUTION: The composition for forming a silicon film comprises a silane polymer obtained by irradiating a photopolymerizable silane compound with light of a specific wavelength range to photopolymerize it, and a method for forming a silicon film which comprises applying the composition to the substrate and subjecting the coated material to heat treatment and/or light treatment. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent from which a liquid crystal aligned layer showing good property for aligning liquid crystal and having excellent adhesiveness to a liquid crystal layer can be formed, and to provide a liquid crystal aligned layer formed of the liquid crystal aligning agent, a retardation film having the liquid crystal aligned layer and a method for manufacturing the retardation film, a liquid crystal display element including the retardation film, and a polymer that is a suitable component for the liquid crystal aligning agent.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent contains [A] a component having a photo-aligning group and a group including polymerizable double bond in the same or different molecules. The component [A] is preferably a polymer component. The photo-aligning group is preferably a group containing a cinnamic acid structure. The liquid crystal aligned layer is formed of the liquid crystal aligning agent. The retardation film includes the liquid crystal aligned layer. The retardation film is preferably used in a liquid crystal display element. The liquid crystal display element of the present invention includes the retardation film.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inexpensively producing an electrode material (especially, the negative electrode material of a lithium ion secondary battery) which allows for manufacture of a power storage device that exhibits a high specific capacity when compared with existing electrode materials and has a battery performance which does not degrade due even when repeated charge/discharge.SOLUTION: The production method includes a step for heating a polyhydro-silane/conductive carbon composition, obtained by polymerizing SiHunder presence of conductive carbon particles and a catalyst obtained by bringing a group 4 metallocene and an alkylating agent selected from alkyl lithium, alkyl aluminum, alkyl magnesium and alkyl magnesium halide into contact, under an inert atmosphere.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a liquid crystal alignment layer having good adhesiveness to a substrate.SOLUTION: A polymer (A) having a photo-aligning group, which is at least one compound selected from a group consisting of (meth)acrylic polymers and polyorganosiloxane, and a silane compound (B) having at least one functional group selected from a group consisting of a (meth)acryloxy group, vinyl group, isocyanate group, amino group, thiol group and epoxy group, are incorporated into a liquid crystal aligning agent. The content of the silane compound (B) is preferably 10 to 300 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the polymer (A).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning material excellent in adhesiveness with a base film and suitable for a retardation film of a liquid crystal display element.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent comprises inorganic oxide particles in which a group having a cinnamic acid structure is bonded to the particle surface. The liquid crystal aligning agent exhibits good adhesiveness and liquid crystal aligning property at a low treatment temperature, and thereby, even when a base film having low heat resistance is used, a retardation film with high quality can be obtained without decreasing characteristics of the film.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyhydrosilane having a high molecular weight by polymerizing SiHin high activity and high efficiency.SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyhydrosilane comprises polymerization of SiHwith a catalyst produced by contacting a group 4 metallocene with an alkylation agent selected from alkyllithium, alkylaluminum, alkylmagnesium and alkylmagnesium halide, wherein the contact step of the group 4 metallocene with the alkylation agent is carried out in the presence of SiH. The polyhydrosilane produced by the method is suitably usable as a silicone precursor.
