Abstract:
An illuminated vehicle interior component. The illuminated vehicle interior component includes a light-transmissive substrate layer configured to be disposed over a printed circuit layer. The illuminated vehicle interior component also includes a decorative layer formed directly onto the light-transmissive substrate layer. The light-transmissive substrate layer is configured to receive light from a light-emitting device coupled to the printed circuit layer. The light-transmissive substrate layer is also configured to illuminate at least a portion of the illuminated vehicle interior component.
Abstract:
The invention provides a button for an interior of a vehicle, a method of using a graphic on a button to indicate the current status or configuration of the button and/or a device the button controls, and a method of making a button with changing appearances, the button comprising a non-mechanical switch and the button comprising means for backlighting of at least two different colors, the button further comprising at least two band-pass filters (232, 234), the band-pass filters being configured to block one of the two different colors, while allowing the other to pass through, wherein a three dimensional appearance of the button is changed depending on which color is activated to provide backlighting to the button, wherein during a first status or configuration state of the button, one of the colors is activated to provide backlighting to a first portion (212) of the button and wherein during a second status or configuration state of the button, the other color is activated to provide backlighting to a second portion (214) of the button.
Abstract:
An interior vehicle component comprises a base and a panel coupled to the base. The panel is moveable between a first position and a second position. The panel has a first side and an opposite second side. The first side is configured to be visible to a vehicle occupant when the panel is in the first position. The second side cooperates with the base to define a cavity. The panel has an aperture extending through the first side and the second side. The panel also comprises at least one of a solid state switch and a light source supported at the first side of the panel, and a flexible circuit coupled to a backside of the at least one of the solid state switch and the light source through the aperture.
Abstract:
A storage compartment is provided that includes a sensor configured to generate a signal based on presence of an activating object. The storage compartment also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor and configured to detect an object adjacent to the storage compartment based on the signal. The storage compartment further includes an actuator communicatively coupled to the controller and configured to release a securing feature of the storage compartment when the controller detects the object adjacent to the storage compartment.
Abstract:
A display for a compass includes a sealed chamber, a display card in the sealed chamber configured to carry indicia representative of a direction provided by the compass, and a display card control mechanism located outside the sealed chamber and configured to control a direction indicated by the sealed compass based on a signal received from a compass circuit.
Abstract:
An overhead console for a vehicle having a lighting assembly. The lighting assembly may include multiple light sources configured to emit light toward a show surface of the overhead console. Each light source may include a light-emitting diode. The overhead console may also include a capacitive sensing input device, a sunroof control device, a haptic feedback device, a directional lighting device, and so forth. The overhead console has a thickness of less than or equal to approximately 15 millimeters.
Abstract:
An interior trim component (34) includes a substrate having a first rib (90) positioned adjacent to an axial end (82) of the interior trim component (34). The interior trim component (34) also includes multiple second ribs (44)each oriented substantially parallel to the first rib (90). The first rib (90) and each second rib (44) are configured to engage a track to facilitate movement of the interior trim component (34) along the track. The interior trim component (34) further includes a cushion (46) coupled to the second ribs (44) and to the substrate. The cushion (46) extends along a first surface of the substrate, wraps around the first rib (90), and engages a second surface of the substrate, opposite the first surface, to form the axial end (82) of the interior trim component.
Abstract:
A trim component comprising a decorative layer and an electrical circuit path positioned on the B (i.e., back or hidden) surface of the decorative layer, the electrical circuit path comprising conductive ink/paint in a geometric configuration suitable for transmitting wireless power. The trim component can further comprise a protective layer positioned such that the electrical circuit path is at least partially enclosed between the decorative layer and the protective layer.
