Abstract:
L'INVENTION A POUR OBJET DES DERIVES NOUVEAUX DE CYCLOHEXANOL QUI SONT DES PRODUITS ODORANTS. POUR LES PREPARER, ON CONDENSE LE 2-ETHYLIDENE-5-NORBORNENE AVEC UN COMPOSE DE PHENOL EN PRESENCE D'UN CATALYSEUR DE FRIEDEL-CRAFTS ET ON HYDROGENE LE PRODUIT DE CONDENSATION EN PRESENCE D'UN CATALYSEUR METALLIQUE. LES COMPOSES AINSI PREPARES ONT UNE ODEUR DE VERDURE ET DE FLEUR ET SONT AVANTAGEUSEMENT INCORPORES DANS LES SAVONS, DETERGENTS, SHAMPOOINGS, RINCAGES CAPILLAIRES, COSMETIQUES, EAUX DE COLOGNE ET PARFUMS.
Abstract:
A hemolysis inhibitor and plasticizer which comprises a triglyceride compound. A medical resin composition, a medical appliance, and a blood preservative containing this compound can prevent hemolysis of the blood in contact therewith by virtue of the erythrocyte- protecting action thereof. A medical vinyl chloride resin composition and a medical appliance containing said compound as the plasticizer are substantially nontoxic, thus providing a remarkably high safety.
Abstract:
A hemolysis inhibitor comprising a polycarboxylic acid ester, an ether compound and/or a monocarboxylic acid ester and a medical resin composition, medical implement, and blood-preserving fluid containing it. These compounds can prevent hemolysis of blood in contact therewith because of their erythrocytes-protecting activity.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for the production of an alkyl glycoside stable in hue and odor, which comprises the steps of (1) reacting a sugar with alcohol to obtain an alkyl glycoside reaction product containing a higher alcohol, (2) decoloring the alkyl glycoside reaction product with hydrogen peroxide, (3) contacting the decolored alkyl glycoside with a metal/hydrogen complex represented by formula (I) M(BH4)z (I) wherein M is an alkali metal, Ca, Zn or (CH3)4N; and z is 1 when M is an alkali metal or (CH3)4N and z is 2 when M is Ca or Zn; to substantially eliminate residual hydrogen peroxide, and then (4) decomposing the remaining metal/hydrogen complex with an acid.
Abstract:
A porous film comprises a polyolefin resin, a filler and a polyester obtained from a polybasic acid, a polyhydric alcohol and a monobasic acid having 14 to 22 carbon atoms and/or a monohydric alcohol having 12 to 22 carbon atoms or a polyester obtained from a polybasic acid and a monohydric alcohol, the film being obtained by melting and moulding and then stretching. It has a good permeability to moisture and impermeability to liquid, being useful for a sanitary napkin.
Abstract:
A deinking agent for regenerating waste paper, which comprises a reaction product obtained by reacting a compound having an OH group, which is represented by the following (A) or (B) with a dicarboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof as an active ingredient: (A) a compound obtained by adding ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to a higher fatty acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms in such a manner as to control the molar ratio of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide to from 1 to 4 and to control the total amount of the added ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to from 10 to 50 moles on average; or (B) an incomplete ester of a polyhydric alcohol, to which ethylene oxide and propylene oxide have been added in such a manner as to control the molar ratio of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide to from 1 to 4 and to control the total amount of the added ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to from 10 to 50 moles per OH group on average, and a higher fatty acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms; is disclosed. With the use of this deinking agent, a deinked pulp having a high degree of whiteness and a small residual ink number can be obtained.
Abstract:
Fragrant cyclohexanol derivatives are produced by condensing 2-ethylidene-5-norbornene with a phenol compound, in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst; and hydrogenating the condensation product in the presence of a metal catalyst. The compounds so produced have a green-floral odor and are advantageously used in soaps, detergents, shampoos, hair rinse, cosmetics, colognes and perfumes.
Abstract:
A triglyceride of formula (I) is used as a haemolysis inhibitor: where R1-R3 are 1-20C aliphatic hydrocarbyl gps. and the total number of carbon atoms in R1+R2+R3 is 10-36C (pref. R1-R3 are 1-10C and R1+R2+R3 is 10-30C). The triglyceride (I) may be incorporated in a polymer resin for medical uses, esp. a polyvinyl chloride resin, which may also contain a plasticiser (pref. 1-20% (esp. 3-10%) by wt. (I) and 10-45% plasticiser). The plasticiser is pref. of low solubility such as a di-n-alkyl phthalate, trialkyl trimellitate or tetraalkyl pyromellitate. The polymer resin may be used in medical appts. The triglyceride (I) may also be used as a blood preservation pref. at 10 micro M - 10mM (esp. 30 microM - 5mM).
Abstract:
A bleaching compsn comprises (a) a hydrogen peroxide or a peroxide which generates H2O2 in an organic soln thereof; and (b) an organic peracid precursor which generates organic peracid of formula R1O-(AO)n-R2-C(O)OOH (I) upon reacting with (a). R1 = 1-5C (branched) alkyl or alkenyl; pref 1-4C alkyl; R2 = 1-8C (branched) alkylene or phenylene opt substd by 1-5C (branched) alkyl; pref 1-3C alkylene or phenylene; A = (independent from each other) 2-4C alkylene pref 2-3C alkylene and n = 0-100; pref 0-20.
