Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled improved having improved cleaning and dispersing action and heat stability, comprising a compound obtained by radically polymerizing a nitrogen-containing monomer in the presence of a copolymer of a higher and a lower alkyl(meth)acrylates/styrene as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:(D) A viscosity index improver for lubricating oil comprising a compound obtained by radically polymerizing 2-10pts.wt. monomer containing nitrogen in the molecule polymerized in the presence of a copolymer consisting of (A) 50-95pts.wt. 8-20C higher alkyl (meth)acrylate, (B) 0-20pts.wt. 1-4C lower alkyl (meth)acrylate and (C) 3-20pts.wt. styrene as an essential component. N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone may be cited as the preferably example of the component D.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a developer prevented from offset without using an offset preventing liquid and fixable at a lower fixing temp. by using a binder resin composed essentially of a vinyl type polymer obtained by polymerizing a vinyl type monomer with a vinyl type cross-linking agent in an amt. of 0.005wt% of the monomer. CONSTITUTION:The binder resin is prepared by copolymerizing a styrene or its deriv. for forming the main skeleton of the resin, with an ethylenic monocarboxylic acid or its ester for controlling the thermal characteristics, such as softening point, triboelectrifiability and triboelectrification amt. As the vinyl type crosslinking agent, a compd. having >=2 double bonds, such as divinylbenzene, is used. The absolute value of the inclination of the apparent viscosity measured with the flow tester of the KOKA Method is regulated to =2.0X10 poise in the viscosity range of 1.0X10 -1.0X10 poise. The softening point of this flow tester is, preferably, within 100-160 deg.C.
