    Abstract: An absorbent article which is composed of a liquid-permeable surface material (2), a non-liquid-permeable backing material (4), and an absorbent material (3) interposed between the surface material (2) and the backing material (4), is vertically elongate, and is divided into an abdomen side (A) to be in contact with the abdomen of the wearer and a back side (B) to be in contact with the back of the wearer, the back side (B) being provided with pieces (6) for fastening the absorbent article at both the edges thereof, wherein the backing material (4) is one made of a sheet-like material comprising a laminate of a microporous resin film (4a) and a nonwoven fabric (4b) and each fastening piece (6) is one made of a male sheet of a mechanical hook and is directly abutted against the nonwoven fabric (4b) of the backing material (4) for effecting the fastening. This article fits the wearer's body so well that it can well prevent leakage, does not cause the feeling of wetness in wearing, and has an excellent hand.

    Abstract: A nonwoven stretch fabric (10) which comprises an elastic fibrous layer (1) and, disposed on at least one side thereof, a non-elastic fibrous layer (2,3) which is substantially non-elastic. These fibrous layers (1,2,3) have been wholly bonded by fusion bonding at fiber intersections so that the constituent fibers of the elastic fibrous layer (1) retain a fiber shape.
